I wrote the original comment and just to be clear here, I agree with you and I do say bi. I don't tell people HI I'M ASEXUAL any more than I tell people HI I HATE FOOTBALL because guess the heck what, things I don't like are not part of my identity.

In this case the fact that I'm bi and asexual seemed relevant to the conversation. For the first and only time ever.

the reason the split attraction model is considered by quite a few to be homophobic is because 'het aces' and 'het aros' use it to justify their invasion of lgbt spaces, because they're not straight, oh no, being ace makes them automatically queer

TBH I'd rather have the he aces in my space than some of the other lesbians and gays in the LGBT crowd because they're gatekeeping dickwads that actually have made me feel ashamed of being gay. The worst het aces I've met have just been about finding somewhere they belong, while the worst gays and lesbians I've met have been all about gatekeeping from those traitorous icky bi people who're faking for attention.

i'm sorry about your experience, but shitty people are in every sexuality group. the worst het aces i've seen yell and cry about disgusting allosexuals not understanding their oppression and suffering, and a lot of them can be straight-out homophobic in that attitude, like they're somehow 'purer' than the icky gays who have gay sex.
