It looks cool, but I think I'll wait and see how they balance the Japanese and Lovecraft elements first. Both of those are my jam, but I'm not sure how well they'd work together in a game.

What are your app plans, guys? Anyone apping adults? Non-humans? Characters from different time periods or who've never been to school? Anyone planning on starting clubs or other subplots? Discuss!

i'll probably bring an anime but i'd like to see/choose some western-based characters too. does anyone have plans to bring those because i'd love an idea of who could gel well with the premise.

Definitely apping a non-human and excited for it! She's never had to deal with any human body things before so I'm pretty pumped about that.

She'd probably want to start a club, too, but I'm not sure what type.

I'm thinking of apping two humans from manga canons! One's nineteen year old from a fantasy world, so he's going to have a rough time adjusting here. The other is a schoolgirl from the 1950's with no powers, but who I think would really work well with the setting!

No idea about clubs yet for them, but I'm excited to see what other people come up with.

I've got a couple of characters I'm eyeing -- both manga based, one 14 year old overly determined shonen hero sort who's been off-and-on homeschooled and one 16 year old wannabe fashion designer from an elite private school.

Anybody willing to tutor the former in math? He could really use the help.

Right now I'm thinking of an OC (who's used to creepy Lovecraft stuff but also hasn't ever gone to school) and a Dangan Ronpa. The former depends on what the OC turnout is like, since I'm kind of shy and don't want to be the first one, but the second is just on me getting a review in in time! I've never played her before, so I'm excited.

Depending on how things pan out I'd really like to app an adult sometime, too.

So at first I wasn't sure who I might app but then I remembered this animanga boy from a different time period, who has only had a few glimpses at modern Japanese school life, and who literally has dog in his name.

He's pretty much going to hate everything and I cannot wait! ...the canon review kind of scares me though D:

what if someone apped Inugami from Gugure! Kokkuri-san (provided that they put up an opt-out post somewhere in their journal) or an actual Inugami from another canon

I'm bringing in a teenager from a Japanese psychological horror series. Shouldn't be too much of a stretch, right?

And yes, the plan is to put them in a punishment game club.

I'm waffling between apping Misato from Evangelion and Erika Furudo from Umineko.

I can see Misato being amusing to thrust back into highschool, but Erika is a smart ass who is I could see starting some kind of mystery club in an attempt to try and solve all the things going on in the school.

So I'm a bit torn.

I'm apping a bat girl (as in a literal bat girl, not as in Batgirl the super hero...though they do share names due to a silly accident on my part). She's an OC and a fairly normal highschool student, save for the whole bat thing of course. I'm looking forward to playing out how weird the form change will be for her.

I love the premise of this game but I do wish there were like, dormitories and rec rooms and bathrooms and the like for the students. it's a very minor peeve that won't stop me from apping, but I would like it if characters had their own space to sleep, even if getting locked in the school overnight were still a thing to happen periodically.

even in a horror game I feel like characters need some reprieve from the environment around them, but there's also a lot of fun you could have messing around with the dorms, too. literal monsters under the beds, possessions mysteriously going missing or moving from one placement to another in the room, characters finding themselves locked in while the room is set alight or fills with water or things like that... the dorms would be a good way to screw with the characters if they were lured into thinking they're safe, only for them to gradually start noticing weird shit happening and experiencing disturbances in the night.
