Idly curious. After the wide release of this film, is there any rper willing to touch Homura or HomuMado with a ten foot pole at this point?

alas, much as I like her character (flaws and all), Homura's not really my type to play. otherwise I definitely would because playing out the problems if half the fun to me, plus I just plain like unhealthy devotion in fiction

depending on the kind of homumado, i probably would! i definitely don't have any issues with playing homura solo, either.

i meant that i'd be fine with playing her in general and not just for the sake of homumado, since anon asked about people playing her in general.

if anything the movie just reinforced my interest in HomuMado tbh

if anything i want to see more portrayals of homumado showing the unhealthy parts. devotion turned to obsession is one of my biggest narrative kinks tbh.

honestly my problem is how many people treat homura and madoka as a 1trupurelove. i didn't care that much about the pairing even before the movie, but after it i just think this pairing is trash and kind of sideeye anyone who thinks of it as ~pure yuri rabu~ cause you can like the pairing but at least acknowledge what it really is.

homura's invested a lot of her sense of self-worth (and even self in general) into madoka but she does seem to genuinely love her - if they'd gotten a chance to date like normal teenage girls i imagine that's something that could have been worked through

the problem is that the bad side of her love for madoka got exacerbated and almost validated by the circumstances around them, so she turned into the obsessive, clingy character we see in canon, while the good side never got a chance to flourish

i don't think it's abusive or anything and my general approach is that most unhealthy ships can work in better circumstances. it just bothers me when people gloss over all of homura's sketchy actions in the movie *and* show and calling it pure true yuri love hdu not ship this. it's weird to see that not acknowledged at all and the over-zealous approach some shippers had about anyone daring to ship them with anyone else kinda put me off.

Yeah, this. I love HomuMado and I love how complex and deep Homura's links to Madoka are, how she wants to save her at all costs even if she damns everyone and everything, AND how all started when a then gentle and naive Homura wished to have a chance to save Madoka from a destiny she believed Mado didn't deserve. ..

But seeing people fluffify Homura's serious issues? And then go all hissy scratchy when she's not portrayed as some beautiful angel instead of the once-naive-now-totally-screwed-up persons she is? Uh nope.gif

other anon was rude (pretty obvious you meant rebellion icons) but there's gotta be something you can do about the aspect ratio of the ones you have. they look terrible. i know the cams are rough but nobody said making rebellion icons with the footage we have now would be easy. the one you're using now is incredibly stretched out.

Yeah, I know they're bad. Some of the icons I took from a website which made them from the cam-rip, and others I made based off various screencaps I found that at least looked like they were high quality. Hence, my desire to replace these with better ones because my icon making skills are limited to "take an image and crop it."
