I'm super new to journal RP, but I was considering apping a video game character, and I was wondering how people handle personality and backstory for characters with variable personalities, all of which are (potentially) canon.

For example, if you were going to app Commander Shepard, would you separate out the things that are always true from the things that were true in your playthrough? How do you handle filling in gaps with headcanon/extrapolating from the source material?

From Don Rosa's comics and by extension, Carl Bark's. I've been itching to play both of them lately so any advice for either of the two would be awesome.

Canon point-wise, I'd like to play both young and old Scrooge -- post Dreamtime Duck of the Never-Never and A Letter from Home respectively, maybe?

I don't think Donald changes that much in the comics so I haven't thought of a canon point for him.

Inspired by the canon discussion thread! I'm thinking about playing her, though I'm not sure if I should play her from the novels or the anime, honestly.

Also, I want to know how the relationship between Haruhi and her brigade members is best played out, especially the relationship between Haruhi and Kyon, since I know that is considered a major ship in the fandom. I just don't know if I want to play it out if I do bring her into an actual game.

After replaying through Okamiden, which admittedly really overcomplicated how the reincarnations work, I wondered about trying my hand at Shiranui.

So, i've got a few questions.

First one being whether there would be any interest in playing with that character. Or whether it's a case choosing one of the other two reincarnations for a game setting.

Second question is, of course, whether anyone has any general advice for such a character. Ideas on how to set out his timeline, where to work on defining the personality and which characters he would technically be aware of.
Some of the latter is obvious but, where would the brush gods go in that regard?

I think I've seen a few Asuka threads in this before, but I have some specific questions. I've never played a character like Asuka before and I'm just thinking that she'd be high maintenance. Because she'd probably land in a jamjar game without her Eva, I'd have to deal with a heightening of her various psychological issues. And well, of course she needs to find a way to be the best at and show off something, and coming from playing more introverted characters, I'm not sure how to go about adjusting my activity levels for that. ANYWAYS. If you read all this, help would be awesomely appreciated!
