This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. da and new anon to this, but that's blatantly untrue. yes, some of them don't tag back, but some of them are also voicetesting and unsure if they want to put the effort into filling out all the pretty parts of the journal if they don't get the voice right. or if no one tags them. i've tagged quite a few of blank default journals and it's about a fifty/fifty split on if i get tags back or not.

ok well a "[voicetesting]" note helps, i've tagged plenty of people who've done that, but total blankness makes it look like you're basically a bot, and i'm not going to tag you. apparently neither are a lot of other people. if you don't want tags, this is the way.

you're within your rights to decide who you're going to tag but it's always weird to see people in this hobby boasting about not tagging someone because they've decided in their head they won't tag back

nobody said anything about journal layouts. basic info. basic permissions. age of the character somewhere visible. that's all anyone is talking about when they bring up blank journal vs. journal with info

My thought process is more like, I want my thread partner to have fun too. That's easier if I know what they want. Some people don't want cross-medium tags. I'd rather know that before I tag them with my cross-medium character. I have a character who is canonically only interested in the same sex; accordingly, I don't want to write het with this particular character so I state that clearly in my preferences. That sort of thing.

I'm not deciding ahead of time what will and won't get tagged back based on vibes. There's really no predicting that!

it takes less than five minutes to toss up a basic prefs/permissions posts. if you can't even be assed to do that much, why should i expect that you're going to be assed to tag me back either?
