Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I don't mean "Don't play with other media" I mean don't try to apply MCU backstory to a Marvel Comics character and the like. I mean, you can if you're going for an outright AU, but otherwise they're often incompatible. Taking elements is probably harmless, but not events or characters.
Also, some folks look down on using live action actors to portray a comics character with years of art under their belts.
Also: Sometimes, someone will mention an event or a run that you don't like/don't find in character/don't want to use. Some of them are unavoidable now, there's no getting around the fact that Batman has plans to cripple/kill all of his peers. But pretty often you can give the other player(s) a polite nudge and explain that you don't want to play that as canon to your version of the character, and pretty often they'll pull back on that.
There's some exceptions, of course. If your character did something that had a major impact on theirs, like Carol Danvers going full fascist and beating Tony Stark to death or Nightwing convincing Slade's daughter to ditch him and then abandoning her right after, then it's probably within their rights to ask if they can work with you on that.
