Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

what is a canon you enjoyed that got dropped by the creator and won't be finished? it is the time of year where i get sad about cucumber quest again and i desire people to commiserate with about lost lenore fiction

Oh, Cucumber Quest! I think GGDG said she intended to finish and release it in script form, but IDK if she changed her mind since I haven't heard anything about it.

Nana is one, too. I accidentally got spoiled for the last chapter and I don't think Yazawa is ever going to back and finish it. I was like "What? That's it?" IIRC, Yazawa had health problems so it was put on indefinite hiatus but knowing what was in that last chapter, it's so hard to go back and try to read it again.

another webcomic, but knights-errant

i was lucky enough to buy the first volume in paperback when it was available, which contains the first few chapters, but the comic has since been taken down and the author never finished uploading it on another site. i wonder if i will ever get to read those chapters which weren't a part of volume 1 ever again

thank you so much for this, anon, i will hone my wayback machine skills and see what i can find!

and yes, the artist is incredible and has great taste (imo). i don't blame them at all for not continuing the comic; last i heard, they were working on storyboarding for the netflix castlevania show. i wish them all the best while still fondly remembering this comic and wishing what existed of it was more accessible

np! happy to help. what i tried to view loaded at least (albeit slowly) and the back/forward buttons seemed to work

glad to hear the artist is doing well too! maybe they'll come back to it someday but if not at least they're still putting stuff out, good luck to them!! and you too nonny. if you can load anything i suggest saving the images so you don't have to reread through wayback next time

SO many webcomics over the years. I was about 14 when I started reading them and I truly did not know how many were going to break my heart by the author giving up on them when they got out of high school/college and no longer had a ton of spare time to work on them anymore. Plus the ever-present problem of the kudzu plot that happened when inexperienced authors put plot clues down as just flavor without ever intending to get to them and not realizing the fans would latch onto them instead. Or when the creators realized it would take fifty more chapters to fully get to every little detail they'd put in and got overwhelmed at that thought. For every Zebra Girl that got a (mostly) satisfying ending, there's a dozen more that I never saw get anywhere close to an ending and just stopped literally mid-chapter.

No Rest For The Wicked, One Question, Hero By Night, Emergency Exit, Parallel Dementia, Energize, and Dasien are just a number of the ones I wish could have gotten an ending. At this point in time, I'd just take the creators putting up a written summary of what was supposed to happen so at least I could finally get my answers. The real kick in the ass is how many have disappeared from the web for good due to the website addresses not being renewed, so I can't even reminisce over the old times when I thought for sure the webcomic would continue for another ten years.
