Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.
Rules:
Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

(Anonymous) 2024-07-15 01:52 am (UTC)(link)you're not alone, anon. i've reached out a lot over the last year and gotten zero traction. things usually fizzle out in the plotting stage, which is fine, but the frustration builds when most starters i do send end up sitting unanswered. i get that life is busy and this is just a hobby, but it does sting a lot when it's over and over, and yeah, it's pretty embarrassing to put yourself out there to get silently passed over. it doesn't even help to reach out privately to gauge interest either. maybe people think it's not an option to say 'thanks but no thanks' or maybe my writing doesn't grab them or whatever, but the lack of feedback doesn't help.
no advice, just wanted to let you know that you're not alone.

(Anonymous) 2024-07-15 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)what is additionally frustrating is being frequently complimented on my writing, but then nothing really comes of it. or if i try reaching out to and building cr with characters i am both interested in and have tagged cr i have with too ( so maybe there could be overlap of interest? ), it's still nothing. i feel like the gross friend the cool friends wish you'd stop inviting to the parties. and at this point, i really wish i could block from being able to see certain journals which only serve as a reminder of these collective feelings.
i hope me admitting in some way to this struggle has helped you feel less alone in it as well.
i keep telling myself to focus on other things, and i will do this and spend time away, but while i do i get inspired to come back and try again… so it feels cyclic and weirdly inescapable. i want lol like actual rp to build and look back on, like i've seen some people get and have come across people presently getting, and to not have 95% of my rp career just be memories of constantly trying and constantly failing.
