Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.

I've seen it mentioned on this comm. Some have said they don't want to tag anyone with less than [add number] comment counts. It's been awhile though and I can't link to an evidence.

which is pretty funny considering that number on the journal still isn't going to tell you how many of those comments were in actual threads and how many were blank toplevel spamming anyway

I have an old journal with low comment count because others flaked on me. Now, years later, I'm enjoying playing that character in memes with several people.

I could say that those who make judgments based on comment counts are probably the real flakes (but I won't because I'm not going to be as stupid as they are).

oh the lack of punctuation probably made that flat but it was a genuine question for subthread op

personally i never think about the journal comment counter in any capacity at all, so i was wondering if somebody who does like looking at their own counts would be looking at others' counts more often as well

i guess i read them when i check profiles? i like to see if anyone has an image in their profile description and look at icons and keywords so its more incidental to that. i don't usually think anything of the comment counts of other people beyond "whoa that's a lot" or "oh a new journal" tho

the only time i ever go >[ about anyone else's comment count is when i am trying to make a new journal and come across 0 comments with the journal made ten years ago or whatever and no icons etc.

Okay if I see a new journal and they tagged me I get a little "Oh!! You picked ME to help voicetest with?!" and get very excited. Even if it's probably a case of 'this is an obscure canon and I'm the only castmate on meme' I still always feel flattered when someone with a new journal tags me as they're breaking it in.

oh same! i especially get flattered and happy if it's a new journal for a castmate too! otherwise it's mostly just idle noting of a count and only reacting if it's outside the norm. whenever i run into people with like 30k+ comments I'm like wow! and then move on with my life lol
