half-woe/half-joy. got rp dumped a while back (nothing bad; rp partner just kinda ghosted when they found someone new) and been in the dumps ever since. but every time i post to a meme or do an in-game post, people get real excited and tag me to the point that it's a little overwhelming. my tags aren't very fast but other people don't seem to mind. feels nice knowing i've still got a place in the hobby. hoping my rp confidence comes back soon too!

as someone who plays big hairy tops: i don't post in kywtp because 90% of this hobby are weird about it and will treat it like noncon even when we agree it's not. i only play those things with people i trust.

Would you be willing to consider playing in a game that's an overhauled reboot of an old closed game, or would the fact that it's a reboot be an at-the-door dealbreaker?

Additional context: the game just sputtered out (rather than reaching endgame or exploding into wank) and has been closed for several years now.

For me it's not a clear-cut yes or no, it's going to depend on the situation, prior mod involvement, approval, were they contacted? Is it a wholesale lift or is there a new angle on the idea? Lots of variables involved

If the prior mod team gave approval then sure. Otherwise I wouldn't play in a straight reboot of an older game because it would feel weird to me personally.

Now we've got the context it's a reboot by the original mod team, I wouldn't care, I would treat it the same as a brand new game.

I lost a shoe there when I was 10. Can you ask around and see if anyone’s found it? It was for the left foot and it had little beads strung onto the shoelaces. It was white when I lost it, but after 20+ years in the mud it might be more of a brown color by now.

it's been done a couple of times, usually people don't care and are happy to have another chance at a game they might have missed. go for it, op!

imma be honest, i don't think you'll find a lot of friction. especially since there is clearly permission to be rebooting it (lol).

hell yeah though, more game options to choose from is always a good thing.

Oh my god I went on a trip with my parents and younger brother over the weekend - just an overnight trip to visit some relatives. I’ve avoided being crammed into one car with my family for the last ten years, and now I’ve been reminded why! My brother is autistic and gets seriously stressed out on trips, or when doing anything else that interrupts his regular routine. My mom, who is a survivor of physical abuse, gets seriously terrified when my brother is stressed out because he has a history of being physically aggressive toward her. It was a very, very tense trip! I think I’m going to try and avoid this situation for another ten years now.

Is it similar to a game that's open right now, public or private?
