The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. I don't see why creating that divide based on hair color would be hard when the og Tanagura managed it? Honestly I think a big factor in it's success was that your character choice needed to reflect what you wanted out of the setting so you couldn't just app whoever you wanted without putting at least some consideration into it, and you'd immediately know when tagging someone what status their character was because it was something so visible in their icons.

I think the actual issue is that Tanagura required very dedicated mods to run, and those are in low supply these days. So many plot beats, active NPCs, actions and consequences tailor-made for characters, and enough active and consistent taggers that things moved at a decent pace.

i always encourage random inbox threads without planning and whenever i ask everyone always tells me they want threads like that too. if i don't want that thread i'll just tell the player but for me planning out an inbox thread which is usually just texting isn't necessary. i'd rather get the tag and see where it goes.

there are a handful of dbd rpers around and occasionally a meme that goes up, if you ever want to stick your toe in the pool! as one of them, i know for me its nervewracking to know who is willing to play crosscanon with a weird universe that's full of questionable content, but we're all pretty friendly so if you see one of us around and are curious! hit us up!

Honestly, like the others above: big same. I also get worried about it sometimes, but I remember two things for myself that might be relevant/comforting to you too. First, my life is stable but pretty stressful. I have bad brain chemistry. The last few years have been full of changes. What's been consistent for me is my Alice. It's okay to have a little treat that's just for you, especially one that can be touched by constraints on time or money.

Secondly, I usually think about my Alice as a muse. Maybe someone else made them up, but I don't think that's more weird than artists of olde picking real people for muses. Sometimes something just clicks, and it's the job of that idea to keep your creativity alive. Just let the muse move through you! Maybe someday the focus will change, and maybe it won't. It's not about Alice, it's about you keeping your imagination rich.

i've hit up a couple of you guys already! it was fun. i plan to do so again when my horror character's voice isn’t as shaky.
