rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Do people see it as a bad sign if you don't have an HMD or allow anonymous comments on your journal? If I opt out, will people want me to justify it?

I really don't want to engage with it. I have had some bad experiences with anon harassment and stuff on other platforms. (And I don't mean, like, people didn't like someone's writing and they got sensitive. I mean, like, people harassed a trans friend for writing a trans character, and posted their info on reddit so people with no connection to the site could also harass them.)

And I guess, relatedly, how common is anon harassment around here these days?

1. ymmv but i've never had an hmd on any of my journals bc no one ever uses them anyway, and if i've lost out on rp because of that i've never noticed

(they're occasionally required in games, but functionally it doesn't matter because, again, no one uses them)

2. uncommon to extremely uncommon. if people for whatever reason don't want to play with you they'll just avoid you instead, dwrp on the whole is allergic to confrontation
