I like games and psls for different reasons. And I think I do them backwards from most people.

I like games because there's a wide array of potential CR and your character can have a network of different friends and acquaintances. In sex games, you can play out the same prompt with different pairings and see how it turns out. I tend to focus on slice of life stuff and character relationships in games, whether that's ships, friendships, enemies, etc., because I often find trying to engage with a lot of jamjars' metaplots frustrating.

I like psls because I can do stuff that most dwrp games aren't set up to easily facilitate, like playing a character with a lot of control over the setting or a chessmaster who is very aware of everything going on around them, and I can play characters in psls who don't always work well in games. I tend to focus mostly on gen in psls although sometimes I will do a shippy meme thread here or there. I like that I have a high degree of control over the setting and sometimes will run like, almost mini-d&d campaigns for my friends' hero characters to defeat my big bads.

People who run psls set in panfandom jamjar RP settings are mysteries to me. No judgment if it's your thing, but I just don't get it because to me it would feel like the worst of both worlds.
