this may sound weird, but i'm happy to see more and more mods making the switch to running private games. i hope everyone gets to enjoy modding again. the concepts i'm seeing for private games are really exciting!

+1 I'm seeing a trend where the mods of private games are way more happy than those with public games. they deserve to be comfy with their playerbase and treat their games like a passion project.

haha same, but i’m still glad to see mods making the choice that’ll let them find joy in rping and running a game. nobody should have to feel stressed out by this hobby. i hope they and their players have a good time!

I don't know anybody and I haven't used Plurk regularly in years, but I've been able to get into two private games just by PMing the mod and asking for an invite. If the game looks like a small private musebox for close friends of the mod then I won't ask, but if it's a "private" game that allows players to invite their own friends, it's probably not hard to get in. There's not really much difference between a private game and a public game with a manageable player cap, but it's easier to filter out problem players and keep gossip off the anoncomms when you go private. A private game still needs a stable group of active players to survive, so it's usually in the game's best interest to let in motivated outsiders.

Same here. I've been in two private games thus far and I didn't know anyone in either of them.

As someone who is also coming back from a long rp hiatus and isn’t really on Plurk how do you go about finding private games?

yeah, i have plans to open a private game in the future but if someone i don't know were to pm me for an invite, there's a high chance i'll say yes as long as you aren't a weirdo.

Yeah I am sad for myself, but it's nice to see stressed mods having a good outlet.
