I'm actively playing in the game right now and have plans with several other players for a lot of things we'd like to do plot-wise in the next several months.

Hello potential players! I am also someone who is an active player in this game. I'm not sure how the pace was previously because I joined here sometime at the end of last year, but I've been getting plenty of tags!

I receive between 10~21 tags on the regular. It could be the type of character I have, but that's my experience so far! I hope knowint this might set your mind at ease a little. 🙂

i was about to say not to read too much into a slower tdm ahead of the weekend, but i took a look through the game communities, and wow, yeah, you guys have definitely slowed down. did anything in particular happen, or?

the mod handoff was a while back. I can't think of anything else that happened since?

lots of the active players have moved on to other games or are more active elsewhere these days

Nothing since the mod hand off, but I think this has been about the games pace for awhile now.

as someone who gave this game a try a few months ago, I found it pretty difficult to get into.

there's an overwhelming amount of lore and game mechanics. between TDMs, monthly events, and events from previous years being up for grabs there were 10+ mod-written prompts along with a bunch of established groups of players off doing their own things. finding someone who wants to play the same thing as you can be a struggle. it might be because I didn't get folded into an existing group, but although I got some really great threads I had trouble grounding my character in the setting and getting things going between events.

it seems like a neat game but I'm also not surprised that it isn't attracting a lot of people outside the established crew, and a lot of the people who are established seem to be moving on to private games.

this was my experience. older games can be hard to break into sometimes due to the history and well established cr circles not having time or energy for a lot of new people. it isn't a bad thing imo it is just part of the life cycle of games.

fwiw I'm a current player who's been in the game for several months now, and I think that offline life is just kicking many people in the ass, myself included. most of the people I've been RPing with since joining the game are still planning new things, and I've had pretty good luck snagging fun CR with some of the newer players who have joined.

anyway give the game a chance, anons, I'd love to see more people on the tdm.

Speaking as a long-timer in the game, I don't think it's on its way out yet, and I sincerely don't believe that's just wishful thinking on my part. But it is a plot-heavy and lore-heavy game. There's always player plots in addition to the overarching month's events, so that adds in double the weight. If that doesn't sound appealing, it's hard to get momentum going once you get in.

If you're having trouble tagging out or getting people to tag you, ask around on Plurk and especially the Discord! There's always players who are willing to get some things going with you. The game runs a lot on the CR you're able to make, so it's good to stay active for at least a month or two while you find your feet.

The disadvantage I will say is that threading has slowed down a LOT recently. Not just log threads, I have network tags that are getting tagged back once a month at the MOST. I'm not sure there's one single factor since everyone has unique circumstances but it has contributed to a feeling of being stuck in one place.

once a month is insane, how do you make ac like that

probably with backtagging somehow? backtags are allowed for AC.

I’m guessing my circle is different from ayrt. There’s only one person I play with that’s “once a month” with tags and they’re constantly struggling with AC.

Most of the slower people I know tag twice to three times a week but will boomerang when available.

The only way I can see this being possible and still be in the game is literally tag the entire day without a break and boomeranging.

When they get the requirements needed, then they disappear until next month.

Pretty much everyone I have on plurk in the game got sick this month so I wonder if we're in the same cr circles. I have also been tagging every day so it's not every person in the game.
