I've felt DWRP is overall far more vanilla smut-wise than a lot of other raunchier communities I've been in. I've wondered what would happen if I either invited some of the partners I got from those places here, or if for some twisted reason a whole community of extreme kink people migrated here for a game or something.

Be honest: If you could get new blood that was way into legit extreme kinks and were open about them, would you want them in?

I think you only need to look at the kywtp thread to see we’re actually fairly kinky, some just pretend not to be.

Oh, I know we have plenty of degenerates. Part of my point is, I notice a lot of it is kept on the DL, and a lot of what we consider 'extreme' in full-blown games is relatively tame compared to stuff I've seen on f-list.

The reason I'm wondering is, what would happen if said new blood turned that hidden extreme kink stuff into an open and public norm, and if current DWRPs would accept it.

i'm a degenerate myself i'd actually rather these communities be kept separate, because i think dwrp is a valuable space in the "kinky enough to be able to ask for it, but not SO kinky it's unavoidable" niche.

f-listers and their kinks are welcome to join but it'd be best if they adhered to our community standards and expectations, like warning for content and keeping extreme stuff out of public spaces like discord chats. and this is all assuming they're joining smut games with this stuff and not springing tree molestation a/b/o it on some unsuspecting SOL or horror game

not everyone would accept it because doing kink stuff in an open and public way isn't really considered acceptable no matter what community you're in. if they started coming into non-kink games or memes and doing treegate shit they'd be kicked out immediately, but if they just started their own games or joined the existing kink and sex games or stuck to TLH, they'd probably be fine.

what kind of kinks are we talking here

It's not something that appeals to me personally since 1.) I'm fine with vanilla and 2.) I think it's almost impossible to keep a smut game interesting.

...But I actually think I'd prefer some of the wilder stuff over the bland dubcon, dom/sub and age gap kinks that are popular around here. At least it would be weird and different.

I play two dudes over 50 and people throw their younger characters at them. dd/lg is such a typical thing for me to be approached for that I stuck up a "no thank you" on my prefs page.

that's not strictly ageplay in the kink sense, anon. unless the dd/lg play actually involves someone pretending to be a little girl, it's just a spicy age gap thing.

ageplay as a kink usually is a specific form of roleplay around being a small child, so diapers, childish behavior, talking like a child while being looked after etc.

An above anon mentioned "age gap kinks" and the anon I replied to narrowed it down to ageplay, which did seem oddly specific. I wasn't aware they were so different.

yeah age gap kinks are pretty tame (usually) with just people liking the whole May-December romance aspect of it

ageplay is a specific name for a kink that's more what most people would imagine when you have to picture an extreme kink, adult babies and so on, it's a whole thing

it does make finding people who are into actual ageplay and don't just want their 50 year old dude to bang some 20 year old more difficult

i personally see it as a no way more than a yes on kinklists. in certain circles i can see it being popular, but it is indeed a common squick.

Oh, I just meant that people will say they want to play something "kinky" or "taboo" and what they had in mind is just a May-December romance between consenting adults, or shipping two 15/16 year old characters without aging them up first, or shipping a character who's over 18 but who has a childish personality or appearance.

I don't play smut myself but I'd be okay with people openly speaking about extreme stuff even if they joined a non-smut game. I think as long as they are told of our norms like putting up content warnings and such that people would be okay with it.

most of the way extreme kink writers i've seen around other parts of the internet have been bad writers, or people who were so deeply entrenched in their fetishes that it bordered on a porn addiction and were either unwilling to write anything else, or unable to do scenes that were not explicitly focused on their kinks and would end up trying to turn everything into it.

so to be honest: not really. shrug. i wouldn't try to run anyone out with a pitchfork but i'm not chomping at the bit to have some cybersex guy who can't stop jerkin it to inflation or whatever tagging me on bakerstreet.

it's not the kinks, it's the writers. I'd only be interested if you were somehow able to drag the magical unicorn good writers who are also extremely kinky here without tracking the dogshit in on their shoes.

I've had loads of trouble searching for my filthy kinks on AO3, every fic seems to be written by people who have only ever read the dumbest hentai manga. I don't want that level of bad writing brought here where they'll have to learn to interact with other people instead of transcribing ahegao panels into words.

i think the most frustrating part about dwrp is when i actually do find other supposed unicorn writing partners who say they also want to write weird kinks it's a crapshoot whether they chicken out three tags in before any of the weird kink shit actually gets written.

That's how I feel a lot of the times, which is why I wanted to know. I'm into a lot of extreme kinks, but while it's obvious you have to respect boundaries and warm for a lot of content, most people in DWRP either aren't interested or want to reveal they are into it.

As much as I would want extreme kinks to be more widespread and for players to be open and honest about liking them, I can see from the replies that this could cause a clash. DWRP considers boundaries incredibly important and demands people to respect etiquette of both boundaries and quality, and most players outside of DWRP would not fit in.

Sometimes I've wanted to invite some RP partners into this platform, but I think it'd have to be for a private game or some meme threads, instead.

i wouldn't completely disparage against dwrp though. i think players outside of dwrp could fit in if given primers about kink lists and permissions and the importance of respecting them. even that would be a huge step in the right direction without being too overbearing to a newbie, i think.

i've been trying to Be The Change as we say around here and when i'm in sex games or on sex memes i am as honest as possible about the things in my yes/no columns, and try to reaffirm to other shy dwpers, yes, i really can and will write that super weird raunchy kink you're coyly batting your eyes at. when those thirsty thursday plurk memes roll around be open about stuff you've done or want to do. describe it! link threads! we have a culture of shyness here and i think the best thing to fight that is... just to not be as shy about it. show other people they aren't alone and it doesn't have to be weird and they aren't weird for liking weird. context matters, of course. don't push on someone obviously not interested or has it plain and clear in their 'no' column.

that said i hate to admit most of my raunchiest threads have still taken place in locked sex games, private games, memes, psls or otherwise with rp partners i've trusted for years to not get weird about weird kinks. it take a lot of wading and patience to find these circumstances. is it worth the frustration? imo, generally, yeah. i would try inviting people, just understand it's best to take it slow and hold their hand around here. there's times where i feel like ~weird kink people~ have to speak in code around here to find other weirdos but i would love it if we didn't and i would certainly appreciate any newbies who aren't already ingrained in that mentality.
