Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. yeah i get what op's trying to get at but this example reads just like... an ic character being ic

you guys don't always have to follow hooks, especially if it's more ic for your character to oppose it; push on, chastise their character, carry them on their back, give them their stamina potion or whatever.

this is yes, and or not, but stuff

i think the issue (beyond this being a made-up scenario) is more that this narration was all in meta reply to your meta and not anything that was indicated outwardly

so yeah that's when your character cluelessly trudges on for the next 2 mins and watches Weak and Precious faint

yeah, it's typically not that funny or presenting an actual outcome. i didn't know how to illustrate it properly (and clearly didn't do a good job) without copy pasting an actual example.

it's basically when you get tags that give a lot of mini corrects with, "uhm actually" that your character has no way of knowing or addressing, especially when the tone (unlike what i wrote) isn't humorous.

it tends to happen more as follows: character reaches a mental conclusion they don't articulate, character 2 in meta thinks/explains why this conclusion is wrong, character 1 keeps doing the thread with their own assumption because they can't read character 2's mind, character 2 gets initially frustrated with character 1 for not telepathically reaching the same conclusion as they do. in my experience, this is most painful when character 1 is just making their own (highly subjective) interpretation of character 2's reaction, and the player of character 2 keeps explaining in meta why this is wrong and character 1 should think something else, instead — but never giving anything to react to.

Depending on whether you feel like investing the effort you could ask if the player is doing this because they feel insulted by the unreliable narration of your character's internal meta. Maybe they are reading it as passive aggressive themselves? If you don't care either way you could drop the thread and opt not to play with them again since your RP styles are incompatible enough to cause you annoyance.
