This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. I thought the first game died because it tried to be an exact clone of the old DDD, which included disallowing OCs, and people lost their shit so much over that rule that a copycat game that was the same thing but with OCs was made, and it divided the playerbases so much that neither game got off the ground?

seems more like a case of players whining so much they killed a game than asshole mods

the idea itself is good and sound and would work (i think especially so with how dwrp playerbase has matured/slowed and how familiar meme culture is already only a step away from this premise), independent of its relation to DDD specifically

asshole players didn't kill the the game though, lack of interest did

the mods showed their asses as being out of touch with the current dwrp scene and so people decided not to app. the game opened and then the mods abandoned it.

entitled asshat players have definitely caused problems for mods before but let's not pretend it's entirely what happened here

speculation. you can't really know for sure what the majority reason was.

I just know why I didn't. Because their opening started a minor wank storm and I didn't want anything to do with it. Anyone being "out of touch" never even crossed my mind.

it's not speculation when I literally saw multiple people across multiple plurks citing the mod behaviour as the reason they were deciding not to app despite their previous interest
