Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.

when i reply with a flat but straightforward "yes, let's play", it's because i would absolutely like to play with you if you, the party that contacted me first, takes the initiative to start and doesn't try to engage in a lot of wishy-washy handflapping that feels like performative insecurity to get more attention/confirmation of my interest from me instead of just writing the intro. not to say that i expect it from everyone, but it's definitely been tiresome in the past to cycle through: "would you like to write?" "yes!" "well... PROVE it ooc before i commit 10 minutes to writing you a tag".

you asked, i said yes i'm interested, so the ball is back in your court and no offense is meant by the curtness.

OP here! And no offense taken! I totally understand where you're coming from as well, though must say that I personally do try to take initiative -- either writing the opening tag or giving the prompt options [ie picture prompts, quote prompts] -- and then still nothing.

I'm not saying that I'm offended by it or even angry. I know RL comes first. I think my woe is, more succinctly, that I seem to have time now and the people I enjoy playing with do not seem to. And then when they do seem to, my RL things pop up. My karmic rp timing needs work, apparently.

If you're always getting "Yes, let's play" and then nothing after your starter, it isn't their RL issues or wrong timing on your part each time. Unless you're tagging into old memes (or game top levels) you aren't wrong in assuming they have time to rp right then. Sounds more like they are flakes or not interested in tagging back no matter what they say.
