I enjoy playing with this person, but I can't put up with their constant updates on what wankgate says about this or that player or game or mods anymore. I've told them I don't like hearing about it, but they will still derail conversations to sneak in wankgate talk, with this weirdly ghoulish enthusiasm and speculation on where wg will go next. I don't think they're posting on it, just using it for unverified intel to seem cool and knowledgeable, when it's not only really off-putting and sad, and I usually have to talk them down off a cliff if they see themselves or their pet fandom posted about.

I also know I'm not the only one they do this to. And neither are they the only player obsessed with refreshing wg and sharing it with others who don't want to hear it, which is also sad and frustrating.

I have a friend like this. I had to straight up tell her to stop talking to me about it and said that if she continued I didn't want to keep talking to her. it stressed me out to constantly be hearing about this drama and she was always really anxious about it, which just meant she stopped RPing and became obsessed with the RP wank instead.

I would bet money they're posting on it too if they're that invested in it. you might have to be firm about not wanting to be part of that conversation, especially since it already sounds like they're ignoring your boundaries. this person is a drama bomb waiting to go off.

i used to use wankgate for that kind of unverified intel. then i was on "the other side" of a few wankstorms, and realized that not a single thing posted on there is a true account. not one.

so yeah, that makes it a little extra sad. poor thing, and poor you for having to listen to it.

i'd say it's about about a 80/20 bullshit to truth ratio. not enough to make the comm worth it IMO but that's not really my call to make.

20 is generous, and half that is people shooting themselves in the foot while logged in
