Vault 66 is set in a world based on the Fallout video games series. Loosely speaking, an oddly 1950s sci-fi-esque version of the Earth an atomic war between the United States and China ended civilization as it was known. The only forms of shelter from the destruction were deep-underground constructions known as vaults (brought to you by the defense corporation Vault-tec). These vaults were spread across the United States and 'lucky' individuals were selected to shelter in them when the bombs dropped. However, little did many of these individuals know that Vault-tec had set up experimental scenarios in the majority of vaults to study human behavior- theoretically in order to best rebuild society when the outside world was finally safe to enter once more. The results were mixed. Vault 66 is one of these vaults. After untold years in stand-by mode, the vault has finally begun to reactivate. Pods filled with survivors are woken in rounds to repair the vault and venture to see what has become of the surrounding area. Some memory issues appear to have happened overtime, however, with people waking up from their pods believing the strangest things, like being from different worlds or times, or even different vaults. Characters apped into the game will be one of these newly awoken vault dwellers, attempting to make sense of this new world and each other. Outside the vault, characters will find a post-apocalyptic America still recovering from the nuclear fallout that happened centuries before. In the wasteland outside the vault, characters will encounter other people, some friendly and some very much not, along with new species and reshaped landscape. How characters shape their little area of the world and how they discover how and why they are here is up to them.

Bad End!

The worst thing that could have happened to your world is now a reality: the Bad Guys won. The heroes weren't strong enough, or fast enough, or smart enough, and now the villains are in charge. They've accessed the ultimate power, achieved godhood, struck down the main character, and twirled their moustaches like it ain't nobody's business.

And that's just the way it is from now on.

These villainous victors, as a bonus, now have access to a nexus that joins their conquered worlds together, allowing them to go world hopping, meet fellow villains, or even give them an avenue to conquer even more worlds. That nexus is called Malum, a sprawling mess of a pocket dimension that caters to the worst scum the universe has to offer.

Of course, the occasional intrepid heroic rebel might slip in now and again too, and why shouldn't they? Someone has to provide a little entertainment now and again, and slaves are always so useful...

Bad End! is a panfandom game where every canon ended in favor of the villains. The plots and events are determined solely by the players. While non-villain characters are allowed, fortune favors the bad, and the game specifically caters to them. This game will naturally have darker themes and content, and players are responsible for participating at their own comfort level.

A guy reads up on hypnotism techniques and decides he wants to try it on a girl he has a crush on. He puts her in a trance and commands her to do various things before they have sex.

I want to keep this rooted in realistic hypnosis, so it's not mind control. Meaning:

1. Hypnosis doesn't make her do anything she wouldn't want to do, deep down. So either she has a mutual crush on the guy and uses the hypnosis as an excuse to embrace it, or they're already in a relationship as boyfriend/girlfriend.

2. Long lead-up focus on him putting her into the trance. "Imagine you're so relaxed... etc. etc." Making her play along with things like "The number five doesn't exist to you anymore... now count to ten," etc. before getting to the sex.

Open to including other fetishes, too! I want to play the guy who is doing the hypnotism. Non-LA pbs preferred. PM me!

i have more of a discussion-of-a-discussion point to make on the topic of mods in general addressing something like this from the past.

as someone who was initially skeptical of the conversation, mostly because i think i had misunderstandings as to the privacy issues surrounding the sharing of the caps (op did not drop them, but dropping them here was cleared with op and mods opened discussion), this all has me considering the topic of transparency.

we talk about how there is not much of that anymore.

there are a lot of anon discussions now about what mods owe players, what players owe mods, what demands players and mods can make on one another, what players should answer to from their past, whether a player's or mod's past should follow them and when, and what accountability or an apology or righting wrongs looks like.

it makes me think about if this sort of discussion occurred around other conflicts that come up. if people or mods with years of ancient wank that come up on anon comms could or should be more transparent, what would that look like? really, if your phantom wanker (can i ask, no naming names to derail) had a chance to apologize for the terrible things they did or to clear the air about things you think they did somewhere or heard they did, would you really take it? when is transparency of that sort useful and when does it just cause more problems?

bc a lot of anon discussions these days are about how someone should not be allowed into a game because of talk of past actions or rumored actions, and we see it sometimes being entirely overwhelming on anon comms to the point even game mods acknowledge it. block soing-so from apping because of some past something. how should i avoid soing-so if i have this horrible feeling about them? etc etc

for mods ofc there's another dimension of accountability. there is a power dimension.

tbh i think a lot of rpers actually genuinely hate how secretive the hobby is becoming. i mean, we complain about it here a lot, and how everyone is off doing their own little thing. but people also are nervous about clearing the past for many reasons. some seem valid. privacy, past not dragging people. and others less so. like hiding abuse or just hiding shitty behavior that may be secretly continuing.

watching the discussion unfold and the reactions to the mods addressing their actions has given me a lot to think about as far as how the community addresses the reactions to accountability for the past and tracking behavior in the present. also the role of anon comms and how much anon could or swould sway private game actions, how much mod actions should be revealed. it's been. i don't know. thoughtful? i don't want to say anything incendiary because i'm still watching the discussion to see where it continues. more a thought on these kinds of talks.

i think you're overthinking this, honestly.

i've been in lj/dwrp since 2006. my experience has overwhelmingly borne out that when people acknowledge their previous bad behavior, apologize for it and mean it, and resolve not to do it again and then don't do it again, people tend to be pretty willing to welcome them back into the fold.

the problem is that a lot of notorious wankers refuse to do those things, and that's why they keep getting brought up over and over again: because they haven't actually changed their ways at all or even acknowledged what they did. i was in a game where a former big-name wanker apped in, and they were upfront about who they were and what they'd done in the past and said that people could opt out of tagging them if they wanted to with no hard feelings. and you know what? they didn't cause a single problem the entire time they were in the game.

it all comes down to people taking accountability for themselves and their actions. if you did shit, own it and apologize for it and recognize that some people might not want to associate with you because of it and that is their right. and for the love of god, don't do it again.

Sometimes when it takes a while to get a tag back, I go and edit my own tag to try and come up with something easier for my partner to reply to (nothing drastically different, but clarifying bits that may be confusing or trying to give more of an opening for a response). But sometimes that means editing a day or two later, and I worry it comes across as trying to bug someone into replying instead of just wanting to make things easier for them. Idk, I guess I’m mostly just asking if it’s considered rude to post delayed edits like that?

it's always going to come off as rude and fishing for tags unless you actually use your brain and communicate with the other player about your intent

"hey sorry for the edit, but I thought of a better way to word that/I didn't like how I phrased that bit before" is more than enough for people to understand where you're coming from. it gets into suspicious territory when you're editing with "wording fixes" multiple times without saying anything

editing it without explaining to them directly only makes you come off like a needy anxious baby that can't talk to people and would rather edit a tag to poke someone rather than confront them about tagging, even if that's not your intent

so tl;dr talk to people, a truly novel concept

i'd rather them be here, in an environment with mods that are willing to moderate, and keep conversations from becoming toxic feedback loops, than the never ending petty spit fights on wg. it's the whole reason i stopped going to wg.

people can generally talk about the exact same shit here as they can on wg. they can. no one wants to admit the only reason they stay on wg is because they just want the entertainment value of its pettiness (or they were, like me, going there purely out of habit)
