PENANCE You remember a dream. Or maybe nightmare is more accurate. It was full of hellfire nipping at your skin and a sensation of being pulled down no matter how much you struggle or cry for help. There's a voice that feels like it's coming from all around you at once. Contrasting with the nightmare unfolding around you, it's smooth as silk. It makes you want to listen with every bit of attention you can muster in the moment. "Judgement has come upon you, but not to worry. It can still be undone." The voice promises you redemption for your sins. It promises you a better life and everything you could ever want, if only you just stop struggling so much. And so you do. You hit a mercifully soft surface soon after. When you open your eyes, two things become apparent. One, your body feels heavy, like you've been asleep for a week. Two, you're in what looks like a hotel room somewhere. It certainly isn't anywhere you remember being before. A look around the room done up in red, you realize you're on a bed and there's a window to your left, a tiny TV in the corner. The walls are are bare besides a couple hellish paintings. Beside you on the nighttable is a piece of parchment with a list of sins scrawled in blood. Specifically your sins. You become almost instantaneously aware that your palm stings and realize there's a deep cut there. The blood on the paper is yours. There's also a device that looks like an old Blackberry phone and a few of your belongings in the room. Looking out the window shows a hellscape full of jagged terrain and unfriendly hellfire, broken down old buildings. It's a nightmare. Stepping out, you'll see dimly lit halls. You may run into demonic staff wandering the halls, manning the front desk. Inevitably, you'll run into fellow sinners like yourself. The one thing you won't be able to find is an exit out of this nightmare. Welcome to Penance. penancerp is an 18+ horror game based in hell around the concepts of redemption and corruption. Characters are given an opportunity for both, but since damned souls fuel hell, the temptation to do bad will definitely be prevalent. Monthly events will center on physical and psychological abuse and torture, body horror, pitting characters against each other, exploration, and navigating through hell itself. If your character chooses to give into sin, this may also lead to more locations to explore and develop as hell gains more power. Player plots are encouraged. This game is sex-friendly and will likely deal with many potentially triggering topics. Inspired by how much I miss old-school games like Polychromatic:

Would anyone be interested in a non-plot-heavy game that does multiple events per month, of the "we'll just list a simple prompt on a calendar" style?

Prompts would be largely silly or mildly spooky, like "costumes appear all over the game world, anyone who puts on a costume turns into whatever the costume is: dinosaur, ghost, witch, clown, firefighter..." or "Lights Out: the sun isn't coming up, and no lights are working. Can you find your way in the dark?"

If so, what would you most like to see from this kind of game? What kind of events would you want? What would be a dealbreaker for you?

For MCU/DCEU/XMCU characters, is it okay to fill the holes in their backstory that movie canon doesn't go into with material from the comics, despite the two being different continuities? I'm interested in playing the XMCU version of Cable, but I'm unsure of how to handle things if/when I ever interact with a Scott or Jean out in the wild. I want to stick to the movieverse's continuity 100%, but for aspects like that that are left out and kept vague which would potentially impact character interaction, what would be the best course of action?

Hey anons!

So I've recently caught up on the series, finally, and it has me wanting to write Rapunzel again. There's a lot of stuff I'd love to explore. Aside from Eugene/Rapunzel I'd love to do some cross-canon things with some characters! In particular I'd love stuff with any of the guys from Voltron, either paladins, supporting, or even some of the villains. Sam Winchester, or if anyone out there actually still plays Naruto, those are some ships I've always wanted to try sailing.

I'm open to other cross-canon ideas (IE: yes your FF's and KH's are welcome too, I just haven't played KH3 yet), I will try damn near anything once. So if anyone is interested, hit me up with a PM or a reply here.

nonnies, i've had a hankering for some werewolf canons to really sink my teeth into for a while. i'm down for anything from campy nonsense to intense drama, though i'm a little bit squeamish when it comes to visual media.

things i've read/seen include: the mercy thompson series, teen wolf (movie and tv series), twilight, being human, an american werewolf in london, bits and pieces of the underworld movies, bits and pieces of ginger snaps, wolf children... does ladyhawke count as a werewolf thing?

in any case, i'd prefer series to stand alone books/movies, but if you've got recs for those, pls gimmie. i'm about this close to seeing if wiki has a "list of werewolf books" or whatever and picking through that
