Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

so long as your tag isn't nothing but overly-long, naval gazing introspection, it's fine, because no one likes unspiced food.

but you have to remember it's still food, and has to serve a purpose. a tag needs a hook and something for a character to respond to, and by the nature of introspection, the hook can't be in there.

basically it's not about word count, it's about giving something to respond to. some extremely lengthy tags are all sizzle and no steak and no matter how interesting your introspection might be, it doesn't actually have a hook.

threads like these always give me those good ol' rp willies

i like to think that i always provide decent hooks in my tags, but i'm also aware that i feel most comfortable when my tags have a decent amount of padding (though usually not more than a small paragraph or two over my partner's tag length). i try to believe that if someone's struggling they'll mention it, but you know, dwrp, people never speak up about anything
