rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

tbh this wouldn't be an issue for me because i make my own icons and give my okay for others to use them too. if i'm too lazy to make icons, am i sure i'm not too lazy to play the character or canon review too? plus i'm a perfectionist fuck. sometimes i'll see people's icons and think "wow, that's a nice pose, but i think i'd prefer it if it were a few pixels THAT way." or maybe they used a filter i don't like. or the worst icon crime: BORDERS.

if i were witnessing this, i would not give a fuck about somebody crying about their canon icons if they were cropped and resized with an optional lazy filter. that's my MO for my icons, lol. if somebody wants to take my icons and throw a filter on them or add some cat ears, they did more work than i did imo.

unless they're, say, colored manga icons or something with "a lot" of editing? you don't own a copyright or anything on this dumb picture on the internet, why the fuck do you even care? it's a bunch of pixels you don't even own, they didn't break into your house and steal a poster or a picture frame from you. they're not selling the icons. seriously, who in their right mind would get upset over such minor shit?

i have plenty of extra icons i don't use because i made similar ones that i prefer, i feel like iconing wasn't a complete waste of time if somebody will happily use my rejects.

if i saw somebody on plurk/discord having a meltdown about this, i'd be tempted to unfriend them if they didn't listen to reason.
