because it's not. you hear about it when it is, but the majority of designs are cool, and the majority of events are fine. it's got tasteless designs, but they're pretty easy to ignore for the most part, and the most gross parts of the fandom are almost exclusively on reddit, which is, once again, avoidable.

plus you don't have to pay for it and there's very little actual pressure to whale. it'd probably be a different story, otherwise.

the target audience thing is actually true in case anyone tries to refute that. the last user survey (on JP anyway, idk about NA since i don't play it and NA isn't the primary source of income anyway) showed that about 70% of the playerbase is male.

if you can't deal with designs that cater primarily to male players just...don't play this. you're not being forced to. literally just go play something else.

seriously: some can't stop because they legitimately have a gambling addiction and are in denial about it. i worry about a few people i know who play because they have limited or no income yet i regularly see them doing way more pulls than you can do with only free quartz and tickets.
