i'm ayrt and i do mean both tbh. canonblind but the player absolutely did not play the character like "if you don't think he's using you, you're wrong" which is not the impression i got until his cr with caedra started.

now it looks like law is claiming he had no part in the infamous tree genocide to make his stupid boats which i'm honestly wondering if the player has run by the others who were involved in that and the mods, but knowing them i doubt it.

i doubt the player has talked to anyone about that claim. curufin was saying something similar back when it first happened. it doesn't sound like any of them are willing to deal with the ic consequences.

i really don't think the character is lying so much as it's the player trying to backpedal on dealing with ic consequences.

"undeserved"? The player was advertising hadriel's 4th wall on their plurk, and their friends came to play for a bit. Pretty sure that's really all it is.

I only joined recently so I don't know what that Law was like in game before I guess but as someone who is familiar with the canon he seems pretty IC to me. The character is just an asshole. Maybe the player realized some course-correction was needed. In canon he's selfish, egotistical, claims not to want to kill anyone but instead sets up their deaths in a way he can act like he's not responsible for it, etc. Any niceness he displays is toward his very few friends, or is calculated to buy others' cooperation. If he wasn't allied with the protagonist for his own personal reasons he'd probably end up a villain outright.

Hope that helps. I'm loving this game so far and all the characters seem interesting and every player I've spoken to unanon seemed really helpful and willing to reach out and establish new CR, so that's the point of view I'm coming from. i love how friendly the playerbase is and it's kind of sad to see griping on anon comms like this. Just thought I'd try and help out a fellow player and give them the benefit of the doubt.

the fact that people are frustrated with law suddenly being a dick ic is because it's not what the player was playing him as until his cr started with one specific character, it seems. now he's burned a lot of bridges with characters (and players as well it looks like) who used to trust him and gemini is acting like a straight up asshole about it, a pattern of behavior that others have claimed is not unique to them in the past. to me it seems like the player has a hard time separating their ic assholeishness with their ooc conduct and it's very off-putting for many of us who had cr with law before this switch in character.

same here. i've had good experiences with gemini too so i don't think they're terrible and wanky across the board? but especially lately they've been trending more toward dickish and it's been sad to see since i don't remember them being like this in the past.

+1 this bc gemini started out friendly enough both ic and ooc, but lately they've come off as being pretty short which makes it hard for me to think "oh it's just the character being an asshole." it's more disappointing than anything else because both the player and character wasn't always this way from my experience.
