It's cartoon violence that isn't explicit, genius. How hard is it to understand that a community of women might have some objections to how young women are portrayed as sex objects in a game? Especially when studies have shown that yeah, fictional media does have an impact in how we're viewed and treated. this shit doesn't occur in a vacuum, and Fate fans and those outside the fandom are allowed to be critical.

In fact, if you and your buddies weren't scrambling to defend the honor of a lolishit in a bikini and mysteriously taking it so personally, this conversation would probably be over.

with Rape, one of the problems is we had a literal, self-admitted rapist playing rape kinks and almost anyone I've seen that play Incest (like that awful Alphonse) tend to be extremely pushy and fail to properly label their content given Incest and Rape are genuine triggers so those bad apples make everyone else skittish about things like this being played in general games.

i really don't think this is the issue. at all.

the sudden vehement push against these kinks didn't start with an incident of a rapist playing rape kink, they started with the rise of anti culture. the backlash virtually always resembles anti culture in rhetoric and started to come around well after tumblr became the main fandom hub and LJ had long been left behind (and as far as i know, ken was revealed to be a rapist when we were still on LJ). the excuse of people not labeling stuff doesn't hold up either because there are other kinks that have been sprung on people by surprise in large numbers--for instance cannibalism, which doesn't evoke anywhere near the same response as rape/incest/underage.

that would be my rule if I were running a game too.

lmao no. i'll give credit that some anti culture has gotten into dwrp because it's gotten into all fandom discourse, but rape/incest/underage were always side-eye'd in DWRP well before that.

and a lot of it came down to them just being associated with shitty players, people not putting up warnings, getting pushy with their interests, etc. this shit still gets played out on smut memes and in the kink thread here on rpanons with very little backlash, too, so i really do think you're off the mark.

re; amakusa and achilles, do you think they'd be better without their stupid hair, maybe? konoe is a really hit and miss character designer, but that's the thing that stands out the most to me with those particular characters.

Yeah, the hair is the main reason I marked Amakusa and Achilles as one of my least favorite designs.

Amakusa looks a bit better with the other hairstyle he gets in his third ascension imo, but I've never really been fond of the spiky shounen protag hairstyle in general.

Underage at least is something that has had a vehement push against it for longer than that. That came with far more strict enforcement of laws regarding child porn and people being paranoid that writing porn involving an underage character could get them arrested and labeled as a sex offender.

Even on LJ people had serious issues with smutting with underage characters, which is why most sex games tended to require underage characters be aged up. People would also freak out if they found out they played smut with someone under 18.

I mean you got people playing Dramatical Murder characters in even regular games so I think you'd probably be fine?

my experience too. she alternated between sweet and pa so much i got the feeling sweet only came around when she wanted something from me.

i thought it was me. i was reading too much into it, i was doing something wrong when she was upset etc. i left eventually, then the deets started to surface.

smut games only *recently* loosened up on character age restrictions. if anything we're less strict about underage characters in smut than we used to be, at least in actual games.
