i mean, a lot of the sillyness associated with liz (brave liz is just a joke version for the halloween event) is better explained in the game she comes from, fate/extra CCC, but that game never came out in the US and i'm not sure how good the fan translation actually is.

they kind of touch on it in orleans, particularly in her interactions with carmilla, but yeah, there's a method to the madness of that character. brave liz is just gross, though, idk why it exists other than for people to be horny over a middle schooler in a metal micro-bikini that is literally falling off of her.

WHAT I MEAN IS fgo doesn't do a good job of showing why liz is an interesting character. it kind of drops this ball for a LOT of the characters that come in from other fate franchises, because the heavy lifting for the characterization and motivations was done in another series, so why bother. add to that shit like brave liz and it's pretty obvious she only exists in the game as fanservice.

Nope, I won't. There are some really gross designs in the game, but Brave Liz isn't one of them. You can ~shame~ me all you want, but I actually really dig it and I won't apologize for that because it's... not pedo. Like, at all. Yeah it was pretty intense competition-wise, and I think a lot of games got choked out because of it. I respect that you are trying again despite that. It can be demoralizing to go unnoticed. Good luck!

i was actually really interested in the game, but literally no one posted on the tdm and by the time i got there it was a few days late so it seemed doa... perhaps it was just an issue of advertising? i would definitely be interested in giving it a try if you open again!

The original idea had been for it to be a canon sort of world, and the setting was responsible for the AU versions and could have some control over the AU versions. The thought had been that any villain OU characters would be too headstrong to do someone else's dirty work or have their own agendas.

That said, I think we're going to end up doing away with the AU idea and go straight canon for characters. We're getting together this weekend to do some re-writes and see what works best.

Skeptical of how "puzzle-solving" is supposed to work in an RP setting. Usually when I see this in games, it's either a race to see who can OOCly solve the puzzle first (regardless of if their character could or not), and doesn't really give much in the way of interesting play.

Also I feel like your rules about pregnancy are over-complicating things. The pregnancy goes into stasis? So they're just walking around with an un-growing fetus in their womb? I'm not saying you have to change this but it's so weird as an inclusion to me...

that's a common rule for pregnancies in-game. the other option is to have the baby in-game which no one wants.

I also missed the announcement last spring, even though I was looking for mystery/intrigue games at the time; but as I recall, there was a new game coming out every week, so it was hectic.

The pages are clear and well-organized. Nice coding and images, too! (Links at the bottom of Welcome are broken, but that's easily fixed.) Also, I am happy to see the game is open to a wide age range, since younger characters can be great in mystery games!

Only question that comes to mind is that the ac seems a little low for a game that involves plotting and puzzles. I was wondering if you had a reason for that?

Seconding that more detail on the TDM prompts in the future would be nice. Like, specific places/events as opposed to general concepts/ideas.

Thanks for your comments! It's true that the AC is a little low, but historically I've found this is a good amount to ensure people are trying to participate without being too much for some to handle.

I did want to open the game up to suitable characters, rather than characters that might fit an arbitrary age limit. I think there are some people who play extraordinary child characters who have been seeking a game to put them in, and I'd like to be able to fill that niche.

I will definitely put some thought into TDM prompts before opening them back up again. That was something I was weak on to begin with—I tend to want to save all my ideas for future plots, but I need to be able to use the TDM to sell the game to potential players. I need to come up with something unique that will sell the spirit of the game without giving away plot.

I'm a bit curious about your experiences with puzzle-solving elements. Would you like to elaborate? I'd like to see if I can find a way to encourage people to band together to solve the puzzles, if at all possible.

The pregnancy rule, as mentioned above, is a fairly standard rule for games on DW.

anons, i wanna hear your thoughts about my current predicament.

there's a tiny game i'm interested in. it doesn't allow for canon updates, but it may be a thing in the future. i have a character that i want to play there, and i want to take them post canon, but because of spoiler rules i can't do that for a while.

what would you do? would you app anyway with an earlier canon point, or wait? usually i just wait, i'm not the kind of person that loses interest in game if i don't app NOW but i'm worried about not supporting a tiny game and it dying before i can app. :(
