There's a difference between actor preference and completely obsessed. While she's rather sweet when she's not plurking constantly about him, the fact that she obsessively draws, watches, and stalks anything that contains him on a daily basis speaks to a level that's beyond just a fangirl. It's really off-putting, especially to anyone who's just walked into this. I honestly would have defriended her instantly if I hadn't already been forewarned.

i hate when someone pms you to say they're going to get back to the thread and then never do. i think i'd rather just believe you completely forgot about me than hear empty promises! they get my hopes up and that lets them get crushed again.

close. there were always threats that they were going to report x or y to the fbi, rumors about people doing it. whether they actually did it was never clear

reports about pedophilia and child porn were made by a group called warriors for innocence to lj staff

lj was about to go public at the time, though this hadn't yet been announced. it was learned later but it helps explain why they were so keen to make the site look "clean" for the ipo

lj staff being willing to delete journals/content seemed to give veracity to the argument that the content really was in some way pedophilia or child porn so it just threw fuel on the fire of people who were trying to make that argument, thus the growth in claims about making fbi reports

assuming this is true, people sent enough reports that the fbi supposedly did end up doing a sweep through ao3. ofc they didn't do anything because there wasn't any actual cp to be found.

again, take this post with a grain of salt because i have no idea if the op from the screencap actually does work with the fbi or not.

i feel you, anon. i think i hate it more when they send the pm, follow it with a tag, then drop it. it's always after i've already written the thread off as dropped, so my hope gets renewed then crushed.

i'm ayrt and i do mean both tbh. canonblind but the player absolutely did not play the character like "if you don't think he's using you, you're wrong" which is not the impression i got until his cr with caedra started.

now it looks like law is claiming he had no part in the infamous tree genocide to make his stupid boats which i'm honestly wondering if the player has run by the others who were involved in that and the mods, but knowing them i doubt it.

she probably already has gone full tilt. her plurks about when she actually met him in person were so creepy.

if ffnet's ancient code is that shitty, they deserve to shut down, tbh.

I've had too many people drop on me in the past so I tend to try to spread my 'eggs' through as many baskets as possible so that I'll have at least one or two consistent writers. The more I like a character or a dynamic, the more of them I'll shoot for in the hopes of keeping that fire going as long as I can. It's not even that at all, people have reverted to only wanting to play canon situations with castmates, which is frankly even more lame. I don't want to sit and rehash canon with you and everyone else, I want to go and stretch my character's legs outside of the canon. Which as you said, AU is the best, easiest way because then I'm not even chained down by canon problems if I don't want them.

I have someone I'm in a game with that's super fun to thread with, but I will never, ever RP combat with them because they specifically play characters that basically can not lose.

i doubt the player has talked to anyone about that claim. curufin was saying something similar back when it first happened. it doesn't sound like any of them are willing to deal with the ic consequences.

I laughed, honestly. How much of a precious womanchild do you have to be to frantically save your reviews? It's ffnet, it's not The New York Times, do you really need to save reams of "omg Snape/Harry I lOvE thIs ship!!!1 *huggles u*"?

Thinking mod burn out and they've been chilling to recover themselves. At least I hope that's the case.

i saw both of these, and i take solace in that in ic terms it just makes their characters look like huge untrustworthy liars because i don't think anyone ic or ooc buys it
