rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

i'm really happy with my CR and love all the tags i get, but how do i stop drowning every event from the people who want to plot with me? do i just have to limit how many i accept? i hate turning people down. and this is just for one character, i really want to play another but i get way too much attention with the first.

As someone in the exact same situation, yeah, you pretty much have to know how much you can/want to handle and stick to it. Make it clear in your plotting posts/plurks that you're limiting your threads for now, but if you do turn people down, offer to plot with them in the future and follow up once the event is over or things slow down.

if you're posting to a cr meme for event plotting, put a hard limit on the number of open slots you have for threads for said event. mention it in your comment, bold it if you have to. and, if you need to make it completely obvious, reply to your own comment with a placeholder where you list off who you have plans with as you make them.

if anybody asks you after that number is filled, you have a clear thing to point to and say "sorry, i don't have the space for another thread. maybe after the event or next event."

you just have to know your own limits and set them in terms of events and/or the number of ongoing threads you have at a time.

Da and a shitty thing to say, but what do you do when you... You know, have say four slots bit the three shit tiers who are online 24/7 get to you first? :(

This is when you fake interview them about what they expect from this interaction and then turn them down but telling them you don't think your characters will mesh all that well together

Don't make a public list. Chat a little bit with everybody who responds to see what kind of CR they're after, then pick the threads that you want to do during the event and make plans to do the others afterwards.

another alternative, arguably the easiest if you want to avoid some people, is to skip top leveling on a cr meme entirely and only comment to/pm the people you want to play with most.

if you don't want to super look like you're doing this, comment to other people you're interested in playing with first, and then toplevel comment with most of your plans already set, and one or two specific interesting plot things that you want from your remaining open slot, not just "I have room for X threads" but "I've got A who's going to attack my character and B who's going to rescue them. I'm interested in someone who might encourage them to take the stupid risk that leads to the attack in the first place. Idealists and Iagos both welcome."

not every shit tier will be thrown off by "hey you actually need to carry this character motivating thread" but many will. if the thread is dull you've still got other fun plans for the event, and over time you'll get some good new CR out of it/not be totally cliquey, while still limiting the bulk of your play and limited time to the people you actually want to play with.

you're allowed to tell people you're not interested in cr with them.

you don't have to say it's because they're shitty. just be like, i'm sorry but i'm not very interested in this personality dynamic or our rp styles don't mesh very well.
