rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

i didn't tdm because i don't need the samples. the game looks cool and we all know basing a game on a test drive is never accurate.

personally i say we don't shoot down a game that isn't strictly horror on a space ship before it gets the chance to get going.

if basing games on their tdm is never accurate, why are tdms such a staple in dwrp? i thought the whole point was to show people what it will be like playing in your game, and what the mods put up leaves a lot to be desired (makes it real obvious they rushed to release the game tbh), which is unfortunate since the concept seems fun.

i guess we'll see if it even gets off the ground.

because some people want samples for their apps, and because others want a meme place to play at that isn't bakerstreet since tdms actually give you tags

but they aren't a good way to judge a game.

they are if the test drive's empty or on life support, because then your game ain't going anywhere.

it's a bad first impression regardless when your tdm flops. the first tdm is supposed to grab people's attentions right away, and when it doesn't, it just makes you wanna call alexa and tell her to play despacito.

For participation, no, they're not an accurate way to judge. Some people who tag the tdm won't or have no intention of apping, and some people will app who don't tag the tdm. Either way, one being DOA is never a good start for a game.

But the complaints being made in this thread aren't about the participation. They're about the content. And that definitely should be a good way to judge the game, because it's the first piece of playable material being put forward by the mods.
