This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

I don't get excited about casts unless they're castmates, or if they seem particularly motivated to seek out cross-canon CR and stir things up. Otherwise, it's almost always going to be the same old thing of tagging each other and ignoring non-castmates.

If they do wind up making an effort to go for cross-canon plots and CR, then they've got my support and appreciation.

I think we *might* be ok for this cast. The Grindelwald seems very responsive to non-castmates at least for the first post, and the Newt mun tags out a lot with their other muse despite having a ton of castmates. I haven't interacted with the players for Tina and Dumbledore, but I'm keeping optimistic about it!

riddle is the person who posted game b's application to game a's app page after completely ignoring some of game a's setting rules in their tdm prompt. they're an idiot with a terrible case of shiny syndrome and play every character as blandly as possible. I'd say cut your losses and focus on someone who actually gives a bit of a damn about rping

To ad to what the anon above me just said, I'd rather play with somebody who is kind, passionate about roleplaying, and is pretty certain to tag me back -- such as Riddle.

I'd rather NOT play with somebody who is mean-spirited enough to call another player a certifiable idiot on an anon site.

in my experience she's also pretty certain to get key details wrong in said tags, which makes it a real chore to play against. she's not a bad person but that doesn't excuse the fact she doesn't pay attention. that anon may have been harsh but pointing this out doesn't make it any less true, or any less frustrating given the issue has been raised to her before and she still continues to make sloppy mistakes. you're not immune to criticism just because you're nice.

There's a difference between criticism and verbal abuse, though.

Have you ever talked to her yourself? On a human one-to-one basis? Sometimes when you actually have a conversation, it becomes clear why things are the way they are. And sometimes things can even get sorted out.

Besides, making mistakes may be an inconvenience, but it is not a crime.

Here's the thing: when someone is actually passionate about a hobby, be it RP or anything else, they tend to put forth an effort to actually do well at it.

I completely disagree with you on that. My experience is very different, and what I see when I watch her RP with others, I see a very different person than you seem to.

Rather than not caring or not paying attention, I think Riddle just gets overwhelmed with too many characters across too many games. She's narrowed down to focus on a few specific ones recently so I'm optimistic we'll see some improvement.

Not even in game but all the intra-HP cast threads are extremely stalkable. As are some of the cross-canon ones.
