1) depends why i dropped it. if it was just petering out but otherwise was a decent thread, sure. if it was boring as hell or the person skeeved me out, nope.

2) if they have a rep for dropping threads or dropped mine a few times abruptly, then no. otherwise, probably.

I don't even PM I just go for it. But not in the first tag of course, maybe I'll try a dumb pickup line or initiate hand contact or something. If they respond excitedly then I go full ham.

anons, can you tell me what the better thing to do would be? i'll use pokemon names for this example.

over a year ago, an ash ketchum player posted in the rp with me thread saying they were looking for castmates to psl with. you had nothing to offer except links to useful resources for the character and wished them luck because ash is one of your favorite pokemon characters and you like ash ships. we haven't really talked other than that but i don't mind pointing friends who like or play from pokemon their way if i think they might be interested. (if it matters, i don't have their rp with me thread bookmarked or anything but i can find it by searching for "site:rpanons.dreamwidth.org theirusernamehere")

recently, a may player posted to rpanons looking for castmates, including ash. the ash player didn't mention shipping ash/may but they were open to gen stuff too.

would it be better to pm the ash and ask them if they'd be up for playing with the may, or point the may ash's way? and am i being creepy at all?

i'm completely open to telling the may player "if you feel awkward pming the ash player, you can just say 'op directed me your way because they remembered you were looking for castmates'" or something along those lines.

man idk, if it was over a year ago they might not even be interested in playing the character anymore and you should probably just let them find their own rp with me ads.

it's different if you're good friends with the ash player and talk a lot besides, but if it were me it would be kind of weird to be getting pinged about a year old rp with me and not even by someone wanting to play with me, but someone trying to set me up with another player.

anons who use live action pbs, are there any types of pb that are particularly hard for you to find? by types i mean anything from body type to ethnicity to time period/style of clothing/uniforms to hair color to idk tattoos and piercings.

medieval attire never fits the character. i just opt for fanart generally or don't play the character at all because i can't stand weeding through a bunch of completely inaccurate caps or weird posed shots.

eh, i've been on both sides of this.
if it makes you feel better, if it's 2 or 3 replies max, there may just be legit reasons for not tagging (i.e. the person tagging the toplevel makes OP uncomfortable, is clingy, disregarded their permissions but they don't want to make a scene, etc) that you just aren't seeing

like most of the time i think it's just ignoring, yeah, but it can also be hard to see the full picture sometimes

Definitely don't tell me you're getting off to our threads. Or any threads. I don't give a fuck and that's TMI.

In general, any stranger who starts oversharing at me is put on my avoid list or I just unfriend/ignore them immediately. Telling a stranger about how you want to die is a sure sign you have serious issues and I don't want to interact with you whatsoever.
