an eternal quiet

Take the WG wanking with a grain of salt. It's all people admitting they just have lots of feelings and don't even go here. I'm not sure why outside people keep wanking on the game but it might just be people trying to stir the pot since a few newer games have been getting that.

The atmosphere here is very relaxed and friendly. There are a few flakes but they're probably players that gave it at try as a new game and lost interest. Since the game runs in 2 month cycles with check ins, the full AC just got posted so the idles will probably wash out. There's still a core group of players that are active and having a good time and we seem to be getting a trickle of new players in as we go that seem pretty enthusiastic. It's a good game if you want to have a group that feels more like tabletop than most RP games. Everyone's just here to have fun.

I will say that the game is bad for people that take their serious RP seriously. Everyone's a little silly and while some of the game itself is very serious like the recent attack on Weathertop, there's a slight cracky vibe running through other parts of the game. For instance the recent camp was in post-apocalyptic Philadelphia and there were hints that something strange was going on with the city being in the fantasy world but there were also silly elements like a cheesesteak spell in the library one of the mage types in the game could bank. It's not a good game if you take RP seriously because you're not going to like the ic or ooc vibe.

Have the mods indicated when the next apps period will be? I didn't see anything on the calendar or apps page. I've heard it's probably a couple more months or so (which works fine with my schedule) but I'm just curious if there's been anything more specific.

Alright, so I just picked up Mr. Wrench here from Fargo because what is self-control when binge watching a series? For those of you canon-blind, he's a deaf hitman, and while he can read lips to some extent, he mostly signs with his best friend/partner Mr. Numbers translating for him. While I think I've got his personality mostly down, it's the intricacies of playing a deaf character that I'm looking for help with. I do know some basic ASL since I deal with deaf and hearing-impaired customers quite a bit in my job, but I don't know much about deaf culture and the like.

Anyone got advice for playing him or just playing a deaf character in general?

sincere curiosity: why not just write fic or something? i don't really get what enjoyment one would get out of threading with themself that wouldn't be easier and more socially acceptable with fic

Noticed a post out there calling out a number of my in-game friends for being too cliquish, among other things. I don't think that's fair to them, but tbh over the past few weeks I've wondered something similar about myself.

So how do I break out of that pattern? Apparently without pissing off at least a few players on my game?

July. They haven't re-stated it in awhile, but a few months back, they said that this plot would take place over the course of about three months and they didn't want to do a new app round until it was over.

i've been playing this character a lot lately so the strengths/weaknesses section came pretty easily, i really like it in place of the usual bog standard personality section.

I liked them but I hated being in games with special trends and precious darlings growing and getting tough or please save them!!! I'd kill for one that was 21+ appropriate characters only and bend from a horror or survival canon doesn't make them appropriate always.

I feed my dogs the kangaroo formula of Zignature and it's done them pretty well since one of them has been having allergies to a lot of different foods and this one is doing her just fine. And the other dog adores it, too.

I forget how much I pay for it, honestly, since I get it at a feed store, but no complaints with it. They also have different flavors and a more restricted version as well if that's something you prefer.

tabletoppy, slower paced, silly, very friendly playerbase, just as other anons have said. i'm having fun. i really encourage you to app if any of that appeals to you, right now's a good time to jump in because everyone's still getting to know each other and it'll be super easy for new players/characters to get involved. there's also a total player cap of 30 and we're at 25 rn. it'll never be higher than 30 because the mods (who are awesome btw) are aware of their limits and that's what they can handle. so joining sooner rather than later's the way to go because there likely won't be any spots left soon.

tmw you just want to play your otp again but you know you'll never find anyone to play the other half again. feels bad, man.

What OP does could be a way to get noticed and to find new RP partners. Other players can see their style of writing.

personally i'd be hesitant to hit up someone i saw in a situation like that just because there's so many nutcase highlanders in this community. last thing i'd want is to risk drawing some wanker's rage unknowingly because i PMed someone like "hey i saw your X/Y thread and it was really good, would you be interested in threading with my X also?" and their ship partner flipped out.
