I noticed that games seem more insular lately. Like less willing to do cross fandom cr unless they absolutely must OR they’re friends. Maybe its just my experience but I’ve been having more fun in psl than actual games. It used to be vice versa back in the day.

yeah, blizzard's writing isn't something i thought was high art, but at least it was entertaining junk before they decided that 'pragmatic and ammoral' meant 'everything the opposite of good'. sylvanas was one of the characters i really wanted to see how she developed in wow, since she was a hero that died to defend the high elves in warcraft 3 and ended up being raised by the guy who killed her to destroy the country she'd tried to protect.

then again i don't know what else i expected because they brought back kael'thas as 'mad with power and suddenly a raid boss that betrayed his people' in the burning crusade.

I've had better luck in PSLs as well, but even those were done most often with friends. I find the same insularity in memes, which is why I've begun to fear I don't fit into the hobby as I used to. A lot of newer canons don't attract me, which has made my luck finding partners here worse.

Fasti. My character is 17, the age limit is 18.

My canon has no clear timeline, but it probably only lasts a few months at its longest and there's no indication of the start date. Regardless, I don't want to try to rules lawyer my way into a game, so I'll just have to find another game for him.

usually i think the mod here is great but i question their judgment call on that one. ophelia obviously has a pattern of hiatus and strikes and barely making ac (i saw her use a 3+ month old backtagged thread for ac once to scrape by) and writing it off as "my rl was busy".

This is what you're talking about from the premise page right? What created this world? Why does the landscape keep changing? Why are there strange machines and abandoned modern cities scattered through the forest?

I think you may be right about it being a mystery, anon. There were some strange things going on in the Philly camp. The philly free library hooked up with looked like the spirit library from a:tla and I think the library from Discworld. The writeup mentioned physics being broken in places, the time of day never changing, and the library had multiple repeating copies of The Never-ending Story that disappeared if you tried to take them from the library. There's no mention in the game info about what actually caused the game setting to start ripping pieces of fantasy worlds away into one place which makes you wonder if something strange happened on some modern world somewhere. So it's all very curious.

All the other game settings so far have been from normal fantasy canons. The other settings so far were Oz from Return to Oz, a Final Fantasy temple, and Weathertop from Lord of the Rings. Rivendell is apparently next. The Philly camp stands out as odd compared to the others. I don't think it's as random as it looks especially since the premise page mentions the modern cities. So there might definitely be a mystery there to uncover.

generally i think the mod does really well running the game, but this feels like favoritism or something. i don't think the same exceptions ophelia got would have been made for anyone else.

she needs to be spoken to about squatting in a capped cast, not allowed to scrape that character by on literal last-minute tags (that technically fell AFTER the cut off, everybody else is perfectly cognizant of the time zone the game runs by so i don't know why she isn't).

i'm not in the cast but i hope her castmates go to the mod to complain. then something would likely have to be done, favoritism or not.

I don't think it'd be rules lawyering to say "this canon clearly lasted longer than a year so realistically my character is a year older by x chapter/episode" but I can see how it doesn't work with every canon. I'm sorry anon, hopefully you'll find another fun fit for him!
