The character I most want to try my hand at right now is (rightfully) reviled by the canon's very large fandom, and there's no way I can app to a game or even casually psl or meme with him without things taking on a weird tone. I want nothing more than to play out a slow, awkward redemption arc (it's canon that this is possible) with a good mix of strained positive CR and actually entertaining negative CR. But even the people willing to play with him - and some people outright refuse, and I don't blame them - make things weird right away, only consenting to play with me so they can work out their ooc hatred of this character by stomping all over him, even if it's completely out of character. I've had only a bare handful of threads not go that way, all with people I trust deeply, but I just want to explore him more than I'll ever reasonably be able to.

I've had this issue with characters much less hated than this guy before and had to drop games, I can't even bring myself to try.

My RP partner's unofficially on hiatus (they took an official one for the max period in March and hit up people they know are reliable taggers to ensure they could cover AC in April) due to a lot going on IRL.

I understand of course, and they said things look like they'll calm down soon enough for them to be able to jump back in later this month, but for now, man, not only have I been slower getting into tagging mode without any threads to look forward to hitting with my favorite RP buddy and my character's most major piece of CR, I've been so itchy to jump into all of the things that we plotted out doing in February.

I apped a new character to a game after jumping into the canon on impulse and I've having a blast with them!

One of the muns behind CR I have in a game keeps guilting me over how the characters' CR turned negative. It's starting to grate on me.

About a year ago, I apped an asshole character who I automatically "ughhhh" at apologists for to a game fully expecting for them to be one more for the game's baddie gallery and flourish for all the wrong reasons, and never get any outright positive CR.

Instead, the right beats came at the right times to set them on not really a redemption arc but a "???ing their way through learning how to people" one and get them a pretty good spread of CR types, and it's been really fun to write.

A second character I play is one I'd been wanting to app to my main game for a while but hadn't written for a few years before dusting them off and doing it. I was pretty slow with them the first month after they got accepted (I barely made AC), but I think I'm getting back into writing their voice fairly easily.

Wow I really wonder which character you're referring to because I have one just like that. I've never had the chance to play him in a game before because of stigma which sucks because it could be a very interesting rp experience to see how this character might grow or change imo. I know at least one other player in the same boat as you where they've dropped because it turned out people were being jerks simply because they don't like the character.

Wish I could say fuck the haters but I know that's extremely difficult in rp. Hang in there OP. I hope you find a game with players who are willing to work with you. Perhaps look into which games have less wank typically. Those with less wank have generally been run by a good mod team and occupied by reasonable players in my experience.

once i do have her down, i mean to meme and tag the hadriel tdm, and app in there if it seems like a good fit. (the game interested me a couple years ago, but i only had the energy for one game and papyrus was taken at the time)

I feel like my rp partner is losing interest in our main ship.

A lot of my thread partners right now are so boring. I have no intention of dropping the threads, but goddamn their tags are not engaging at all. I feel like I'm doing all the heavy lifting.
