I work at a corporate nationally-branded gym, but I've also worked for a mom & pop garage gym and a university gym.

when you say middle of the road views, do you mean like Stereogum, that covers both pop and indie, or something like Popjustice that focuses on pop but occasionally tackles crossover stuff? or am I totally off?

i don't think they were particularly worried. it wasn't commonly known at the time that having kids late in life could lead to birth defects, etc. and i think they were confident they weren't both going to die early in their kids' lives.

M/M, SFF+horror setting. Character A is a ship captain who went MIA in space a while ago. Character B locates A on a deserted ship, which has been infested by some sort of Lovecraftian-space-monster. Character A's mind has been assimilated into said monster, which has corrupted and driven him to madness.

Character A also has prior tense history with B, and partially blames his current situation on B. So he imprisons B on the ship with him, aiming to torture/break/enslave him.

Interested in playing power struggles, fighting, emotional manipulation, B trying to get A to come to his senses, general bloody brutality, mindfuckery, etc. Main kinks I want to play are non/dubcon, bondage, sexual torture, and tentacle/machine fucking.

I'm planning to play Character A (dominant/aggressor), but I'd also be happy to play B! Will be playing a drawn OC in either case.

Would like to play against an OC as well, but may consider canon characters depending on the character. Any medium OK, adult characters only.

My native language is German!

I started learning English in elementary school, but the first couple of years were just... playing games that made themed vocabulary lists more fun. So I couldn't really form a sentence, but I sure could list off some fruits, animals, and colours. Grammar, spelling, and all that good stuff came in when I was about 10 years old.

The hardest parts, at least for me, were idioms, turns of phrase, casual conversation type things. What I learned in school was very, very formal, very polite, and often very basic. What I learned from the truly terrible selection of English novels that my local bookshop had in store, well, that wasn't exactly natural, either. So, let's just say that the first friends I made online probably had a few wtf moments while I tried to act 'groovy' and 'with it'.

Second to that: the use of uncommon words. And 'uncommon' in this context means "words you neither encounter in a classroom full of people who cannot form a sentence nor in awful crime fiction".

Don't worry, I'm cool with questions! I take a fair amount of medication, at the moment that's amisulpride, olanzapine, diazepam, and zopiclone (idk if I'm spelling those right and I can't be bothered to go and grab my med boxes to check). I see a CPN every week, a psychologist once a month, and a psychiatrist once every two weeks. I get auditory hallucinations and they're always hateful and violent/threatening, it can get pretty hairy. I also have paranoia which can fuck shit up sometimes.

I've seen some misconceptions rolling around RP that people have asked about, so why not?

not a dumb question at all! if the gym you go to doesn't have the equipment, it's possible you've never seen a spin bike before, because they're pretty pricy.

a spin bike is basically a stationary bike that's made to be stood up on. it's called "spin" because pedaling makes the big magnetized wheel at the front of the bike spin around. there's a lever or knob on the front of the bike that allows you to add "tension" to make the wheel heavier to spin or simulate going up a steep hill.

most gyms that have them teach "classes" of 15-50 bikes in a room with an instructor at the front. the instructor is mostly in charge of really motivating people to push themselves safely into a high-intensity cardio routine. sometimes instructors incorporate hand weights or rubber bands but I generally think that's silly. it's a great form of exercise for people with knee or back issues because it's low-impact, and it's also good for people who are just starting out with fitness because you can change the weight on your bike without anyone else in the class seeing if you want to make it easier or harder. it's almost always in a dark room to pounding music.

if you ever watch Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, there's a great bit about spin classes and how ridiculous they can get with the "ooh feel your chakras envision riding a horse on the beach" cult of personalities some of the really popular teachers can get

have you ever had someone come in who just won big and wanted to tip hard?

My dream job is legislative/government affairs for environmental/natural resources/ag nonprofit, staff on the congressional committees covering these issues, congressional research service analyst, or even the government accountability office (they have a natural resources team but I would be happy on any)... I think you get the gist.

There are also a fair number of state agency jobs in departments of ag and departments of natural resources focused on understanding perceptions of stakeholders which is what my thesis is on. I'm actually part of a national project and have been working with five state agencies directly to develop specific survey items they want to measure about their constituents so those will be sent out this summer while I'm developing the report template for all 50 states. Basically this will be the type of job I'll be looking for if my SO can't get a job in DC. I like the idea of working as a state-level civil servant though, and I think I have the project management and administrative skills to climb the bureaucratic ladder.

Anyway, my favorite course has probably been public budgeting and finance followed by psychology of judgement and decision making. I don't actually get to take a ton of environment-specific courses in my degree (well, I can I just don't have the time)

i've played kaine on and off for a while and occasionally i get the dying urge to rp her again and yeah, that's happening now c': i barely know anything about automata though w-whoops

i don't think you're being picky, anon, i think a lot of current games are very samey and you're screwed if you're not into the game genre du jour. i'm taking a break from games now for the same reason - i'm burned out on horror, space-themed sci-fi isn't my thing and most of my characters aren't a good fit for sex games, which rules out a huge chunk of the games out there right now. in the meantime i'm keeping myself busy with memes and psls and hoping something interesting comes along sooner rather than later.

I see a lot of pity, mostly! And the whole idea that being adopted is somehow a bad thing or means you 'don't fit' with your adopted family or aren't loved like a bloodborn child. I see a lot of this in particular tossed about by MCU fandom regarding Loki, disregarding that jealousy was the longstanding problem before the 'you're adopted' thing, and the fact that his parents loved him.

Obviously there are cases where such things do happen, but it sure ain't the default by far.

F/M: Reluctant virgin sacrifice gig, but with a boy as the sacrifice

Medium to small sized town living on a fertile island isolated from any mainlands has worshiped a deity for hundreds/thousands of years and have always sent a beautiful, single women of age to a Grecian temple at the middle of the island. This year all the young women have gotten ahead of the game and paired off before the council could come together and decide who to send off to the temple. So this year, after last years poor crop harvest, they send a pretty young man in place of a woman.

Looking to play the goddess who receives the sacrifice at her temple. Can be longform or one-shot. Interested in a character who will be skeptical/resistant at first and probably not happy to be a "pet" even if his life is spared. Goddess will be inquisitive and curious about the first guy she has been given, but also a bit pushy.

Kinks: loss of virginity, uppity/somewhat prude male partner, possessiveness (the goddess acting as if the sacrifice is her property) - but especially magic or power use during sex. This can range from heightening or depriving the sacrifice of his senses or making the vines in the plant garden to come alive and restrain him. I'm open to ideas and suggestions. My hard nos are just bathroom play.

One-shot will be sex from the get go, but I like leaning more towards longform/working up to it, so let me know what you'd like better.

As for the clicking on and off: nah. Usually it's just being being bored. Sometimes it's fun when you start doing it and then everyone else starts doing it. And sometimes, rarely, if you're an asshole, you trick other people into doing it and try to snipe their character from them.

I meant in terms of view counts and page metrics! like, none of the sites I write for are as big/as widely spread as Popjustice but one of them definitely gets more traffic than the other. looking back, I realize I worded it REALLY weirdly, so sorry anon.

since it's kind of your question tho, I tend to cover a LOT of different genres. I mostly end up covering country music though as I'm familiar with the genre and country albums are less likely to get snatched up as fast as pop albums are.
