Well that is basically why I made this thread because I'm also not part of an established group and I would like to actually get to play from this fandom.

honestly, ANY site is better than this. i have a friend who's ESL and got chased off this site three years ago for a linguistic typo they made in their journal's profile. which they hadn't even started playing in yet, because they were brand new to the rp scene here. which tells me all i need to know about how much free time these guys have (and frankly, why there's no new blood). i like to check every now and then to watch how slowly this place is dying. it feels like poetic justice.

fyi, not everyone is a dick like that. a handful of shitty, harpy twats usually ruin it for the rest of us who are happy to play with new players and to help walk them through it. most of us remember when we were newbies and needed help. then you have the vocal minority who act like they just got birthed onto the internet in perfect form. fuck them. i'm sorry your friend got chased off. there are still plenty of people here who would happily play with them.

something about coming back vengefully years later to stalk "how slowly this place is dying" is a lot sadder than the people still happily rping here

that's really unfortunate about your friend tho and i hope the friend found somewhere nice to play

i rarely care enough about the actor playing the character to even keep track of who they're related to tbh. unless the player made a weird show of it in their comment, i wouldn't care.

i'm trying to think of who might be related to who in terms of acting and the only ones i can think of are like, angelina jolie and john voight. in that case, i could totally understand a nope. brother/sister parent/child is creepy, even if you're trying not to take ooc into consideration. i think as long as they weren't a dick about it, no one would care. if someone flipped on me for tagging them with a family member, that wouldn't be cool. especially if i didn't know. but if it was just a 'sorry, but the actors are related and that makes me uncomfortable', i could understand and respect that.

off the top of my head, i can only think to add robbie and stephen amell.

the arquettes? patricia and david. maybe... the baldwins? charlie sheen and emilio estevez? kate hudson and goldie hawn? oh, wait, the hemsworths.

it's a pretty small game right now, so there really isn't anyone who isn't open to new people.

only app hint i can think of off the top of my head is your app sample can be two linked threads or two written-just-for-the-app samples or a mix (i thought it had to be one of each before, but nah).

the current needs are more job-related (make-up, tailors, tech crew, repair, treasurer or wardrobe manager) than canon/char-related, but that said, it's not like there are any closed jobs save for the taken supervisors. you can put anything in for possible job roles, those are just the ones lacking folks in them right now.

oh yeah! the gyllenhaals too.

i'm really not either but i'll wait and see what it's actually like once we're there. hopefully it won't feel like we're stifled by the location. i know there are going to be plenty of player focused things but it's not like we didn't have that before.
