Looking for a low ac, laid back game to bring the eighth incarnation of the Doctor from Doctor Who to. Don't really mind on canonmates or not, just something that's a bit forgiving for someone who doesn't always have time to churn out a lot of tags a day.

If they've kept their nose clean for that long, there's a good chance that they've seen the light and have honestly changed for the better. Keep in mind, that's three years now, give or take a few months.

But if they've screwed over past PSL partners, a dose of cautious optimism is warranted.

By far my favorite tabletop RP.

Too bad it's not even close to being as popular as D&D.

this is not the first time i've seen this and i sincerely wonder why people think this is a widespread thing. there's, like, a tiny handful of characters people actually play that are like this and they're still more muted in RP than they are in their home canons.

i don't have anything to be butthurt about much less be required to prove to you otherwise.

the game is running into the ground and we're spinning tires in the mud. in the end, the players' hard work in creating meaningful cr is gonna be given a "this is how it ends b/c y'all didn't find enough to fix/stop/go home, el fin" because no one has been able to do shit all in the larger scheme of things and the mods are gonna get tired of wondering how the hell we're not making progress

exactly how big of a chunk of the entire damn town have we not even touched yet and how much have we not even discovered because the mods are too stuck on railroads to let us try to alter characters' game-end destinies or figure out whether even whatever the hell was going on in the past has any bearings on the present or future. why are we getting backstory when it doesn't seem to matter or lead us anywhere in terms of escape.

if we aren't supposed to be able to escape in the end, then what's the fucking point of leading us on by making it seem like there's a chance? irrelevant, just give us more coherent backstory and let us find the center and the fact we can't leave/we're clones/zombies/wtfever else and let us have room to make our characters suffer with that realization

anon, what is this accomplishing? honestly. just venting your frustrations? that's fine. but we're not spinning our tires. people are making progress. it's slow progress, but it's progress. we're getting more pieces of information and they all seem to be very much pointing toward what's happening now being the result of what happened in the past. rp isn't rpg or a horror movie. the build-up and payoff are a lot slower in coming simply due to the fact that there are dozens of protagonists who are working toward the same goal. it gets messy from there.

Good question! I recommend this approach:

1. Play a lot of video games and watch a lot of cartoons.
2. Start imitating and making things your own.
3. Get a good microphone. Starting out Blue Yeti isn't too shabby though as you get more serious you'll want to graduate to a nicer set-up.
4. Join sites like BehindTheVoiceActors.com, CastingCall.Club and VoiceActing.Boards.Com and start auditioning for EVERYTHINGm not just the paid gigs.
5. Once you've got a lot of practice under you (I did this for at least a year or two), consider classes if you can afford them.
6. The way I got in is that I made friends with a lot of pros prior to their rise to professionalism and got asked if I wanted to be included in casting calls. Like most entertainment businesses, a lot of it is networking!

slow progress is absolutely fine and expected but not when your game is set to end within a particularly short timeframe

I thought I was the only one who thought the mods were very curt and borderline unhelpful in their responses. I'm not impressed at all, so I'm glad there's someone else who thinks so too.

i'm not really into anime outside the stuff i grew up with, but if there's anime teens like that, then they haven't been apped to the games i've been in over the past couple years. i have seen some hyper agressive jerks, super powered emo kids, bland nice girls, and a whole lot of perky optimists and shy one word wonders, though.

theres no way to know who these mods are, lucky for them, but whoever they are, they could stand to have someone on the team with social skills. they come off extremely unfriendly and the latest 'sorry you felt that way' nonpology just compounds the issues.
