owari no seraph, diabolik lovers. i prefer my vampires to be melodramatic as shit over 'srs predator' type vampires. i'd probably be watching the anime for both of them but i'm flexible.

when i modded and had a situation like this ingame i had people (who were not even castmates of the two players, mind you) coming to whine to me about this kind of stuff a few times and expecting me to scold the players who were avoiding each other because they clearly had their own beef with one or the other and were trying to stir trouble for them, or they were overinvested in the fandom and butthurt their favorite ship wasn't being catered to ingame by the two players

seconding this. go pri's got some majorly rocky pacing at the start, but once everything smooths out, you're left with some wonderful character dynamics and great character arcs.

if you want a specific pretty rhythm to give a try, then rainbow live is really good. it has the best character development arc in that series, imo. the characters have a ton of development and depth to their personalities outside of the one single personality trait they're described and introduced with.

i also recommend pripara for similar reasons. pripara's entire theme is not judging a book by its cover so a lot of the characters have unique personalities. and the episodes get incredibly silly. but, as another anon pointed out, the subbing situation with pripara is weird and has been weird since the first season. it will probably never be up-to-date.

have you seen princess tutu yet? it's girly as shit, has amazing characters, and does really interesting things with the idea of stories & storytelling.

also, i've only seen a few episodes, but the western animation show lolirock hit my "sparkly and girly and kind of brainless to watch but in a good way" itch

if you love melodramtic vampires you'll love seraph. as a series it's about average but if you want pretty boys in long coats having feelings, it's right up your alley, and it's not really heavy enough to take any of the characters as serious predators.

diabolik lovers anime is garbage, do not recommend. it's already trashy and explicitly designed as a d/s vampire kink canon to begin with and the anime just dumbed down or cut out what interesting characterization and entertainment value there was in the games.

the games and drama cds are reasonably enjoyable as shameless kinky fetish fuel (and there's translations for much of that stuff and the manga adaptation on tumblr) and some of the characters and story elements are actually somewhat interesting, but if you're not into that kind of d/s kink and don't have a high tolerance for sadistic assholes it's a definite pass.

you're missing out. her videos are the best, very relaxing and satisfying.

Yeah, surprise, I was a mod too. I had to deal with someone who was asspained because Player X defeated them in an app challenge two years ago. I know.

But this is how I see it:

If the characters aren't that close canonically and they can take or leave interacting, them the person complaining to me is going to get immediately shut down and told to take it to the 'problem' players' HMD, and, if only after that do they get an asshat response, can complain to me.

If the characters are kind of close canonically and it's OOC for them to not interact in some regard then that's the players' responsibility for putting themselves into that position in the first place and something I'm going to leave it up to them to handle and resolve. In which case the person complaining to me is going to get immediately shut down and told to take it to the 'problem' players' HMD and blah blah blah.

And if they're incredibly close it's still their choice and their responsibility to handle, and if only after someone fucks up that I step in as a mod. I don't need to know ahead of time so I can ~neutralize~ anything because that's not my job nor should it be.

This being, of course, different from Established Player X getting Unwanted Player Y in their crew since it's Y inflicting themselves on X, opposed to X and Y apping in together and presumably deciding they can handle coexisting as castmates together.

What kind of username looks better?

dog_cat or dogcat? (Not the exact username but I'm basically wondering what the general consensus is regarding underscores)

i prefer without the underscore but i honestly don't fucking care. i might grab the underscore username too just so nobody goes around using a similar username but that's just me.

if it's something like hugeelephant or susanalbumparty, i would much prefer huge_elephant or susan_album_party.

I would pick dogcat because I feel it looks better, and also there are people here who get really pants-on-head about it if you use underscores.

But you do what you like.

The mods also recently made an announcement that younger characters might have to make a case for why they're suitable for the game, since it explores darker themes.
