hadriel for over a year now. I'm working on an app for another character of mine, Ravine (

whip_poor_will), who is from a much different storyline/universe. While one is from a dystopian/scifi horror story, the other is from a post-apocalyptic/supernatural/mindfuck horror story. All are fun times.

Now that pissed me off. I don't really care about the player wank and how they could've/should've handled it, but they really should have done something for the players who stuck around than just going "oops we're closed now", because this is a slap in the face for them when they weren't a part of this "dwrp culture" nonsense they were blaming the closure on. I don't like Crosscheck anymore, but it was a unique kind of game and this was a copout.

I don't care about the anon wank but that last part is much closer to the reason why I dropped. Ultimately I take CC as a lesson in how game makers can't rely on one player group to shoulder a game's activity forever. The injokes were fun for a while but eventually they created a game that appealed to no one else, but the players they were appealing to couldn't be arsed to be active.

Because they want sympathy like they're suffering so much

I have a friend who always talks about shootings or fires in towns miles away from her's and will go "oh I used to know someone who lives there I'M SO SCARED GUYS" or something equally embarrassing

honestly, i'd get out if i were you. you're not their friend, you're not their therapist, they can't even show the most basic amount of gratitude (i.e. a simple thank you), and they haven't done the thing you guys planned to do in a month. you have shown a lot of goodwill, moving on is beyond fine at this rate.

depending on the mode of communication you're sharing, you might want to send them a message (i'd do it if we've got each other added on plurk), though that could be fairly awkward if you had been using pms the whole time. either way, it wouldn't need to be anything fancy, just a "hey, i know you're having a hard time, if you want to continue our psl at some point in the future, you can always message me" – assuming that is something you would want.

i would give the mods a heads up in the app to let them know about the situation. but between people playing from ongoing canons, it really shouldn't be any worry.

similar problem here. there doesnt seem to be much room for villainous or even minor criminal type characters to actually do much.

idk, I think this is something someone should put together and bring to the mods for consideration. like, we know where the mods are coming from with this rules, they want to have some kind of control over the direction of their game and don't want criminal elements running unmoderated, but they're really going about it the wrong way.

Thanks for the advice. I feel like an asshole since we've talked a bit beyond RP but... yeah, I'm getting a bit fed up with the melodrama. And I know I shouldn't expect gratitude but it's kind of annoying trying to comfort someone and getting no acknowledgement of it.

I'll consider moving on if this keeps up much longer. I'm already sort of distancing myself from them so.
