it started out with light science/doctor kink and the stockholmed half basically being stuck in a research facility as a subject. the one they fell for was the "least bad" of the researchers and eventually got them out but tbh there's never going to be a properly healthy dynamic between them.

every time "paris" comes up in the news, they throw a fit because "ugh, it's always those fucking french people, why doesn't the news ever talk about MY paris???" even if their "paris" is a tiny-ass town that has nothing of interest.

Moderately. Not something I'd pick a fight over or anything but I'd eventually start seething every time it happened.

Very annoying and usually far from the only time they make things be about them. I also admit, I don't get why anyone would want their town to be in the news because that's usually not a good thing.

what???? so youre forcing the player into a corner? that pretty much crosses out pbs that could be a good fit for a river: liu yifei. malese jow (white/chinese, best/worth of both sides?). etc.

it baffles me that this is a rule. there are better fits for river than this if not for the stipulation.

i could understand if someone was using something very identifiable like rdj in the ironman suit as a pb but come on

i'm not a la rper but it seems like with this rule, you either can't use rdj or you have to use icons of him on the red carpet or in tabloids

hi everyone,
we need some advice. val received a message today from a company about a possible official release of Sweet Pool. We've been asked if we want to provide our scripts that we are currently beta testing to them and cooperate on the translation. We're torn. We've put years into this project amidst a lot of real life pain and drama. We are almost finished with the project too, though we still have some things to fix up in beta testing.
On the other hand, a professional company could make life a lot easier and possibly fix the technical issues that seem to have been floating around with Sweet Pool since the partial patch was first released. There would probably be other benefits as well to having an official license, but we don't know enough about this.
Does anyone have any experience with dealing with companies in this context? Or other thoughts?

Hey everyone. So after a few days of discussion, we've decided to finish the patch ourselves. We only started this project for the fans and don't want to see it being used to make a profit. There may later be a paid english version released through the company, but we'll see what happens.
Anyhow, back to beta testing and thanks for your continued support!

I, too, hate encouraging people to actually buy a legit copy of the game by releasing an unauthorized patch that I'm probably going to get a C&D for later.

+1 but the mods decided to blame the "current DWRP culture" instead of anything they actually had power to change.

a porny cyberpunk au psl involving my favorite ot3, who between doing fun action/intrigue stuff are all fucking each other in various combos on the regular. even better would be getting to play this in a full-on small musebox cyberpunk au game (maybe up to 10 players or so).

i am so jealous of people who are able to successfully get small private games off the ground and keep them running and wish i could get into one.

you should say something like that! in other AU games I've had some great cr responding to things like "hey here's my character, they're [insert stuff here], they should interact but I need more ideas to springboard"

the other person might have ideas, but not know you're interested if you're on the meme, or if you're a current player, not have a way to talk to you

I wanted to have a minor criminal character, since I don't mind the "fines, stuck in jail and/or community service," but honestly it was the "AND you lose points!" thing that turned me off. It sounds unnecessary.

And since all the characters I'm best with have criminal/antagonist bents, I'm...not sure what to do with them.

Easier how, exactly?

I'm just curious as one of those oldbies who's noticed they've been slacking on making new CR. I'd love to know if there's anything you (or anyone else) has noticed about what's making us more difficult to tag? Tag speed, lack of tagging in opportunities or oldbies not tagging out enough? Something else?

I recently looked at some of the characters I play and realised I have a whole bunch of wizards. I was looking for other magical types to play out a conflict with- I have good, bad, lawful, chaotic and every combination thereof from medieval to modern and the far future in space.

I'd prefer a multi-layered conflict that's not just throwing fireballs at each other (though that's more than welcome as part of it), but is more about tricks, traps, counters, counter counters, summons etc and achieving broader goals than just beating their opponent in a fight.

Naturally, specifics would have to be worked out when we know what characters we're matching up against each other. I'm okay with OCs because a couple of the ones I'd be offering are OCs.

there's not a lot of wiggle room when you'd rather not lose all your ooc activity points but also can't deviate that far from your character's canon personality/history for the au. i've been having similar troubles and idk what the answer is aside from trying to find another character.
