the last event with the individual anomaly(?) responses to characters deciding whether or not to run/stay on the path was also awesome. the maze event had the potential to be awesome too if the mods would have employed some of the stuff you're talking about, like creative license for hallucinations or stuff like that. amazing suggestion, anon.

I think you need to keep in mind that a majority of new players come in dying to get involved in search requests/puzzles/etc, and then after getting "you find nothing of note" over and over again no matter how descriptive they are, they start to give up.

I like to think one of them is good, but the other one is absolute garbage and I have no illusions about that. To be fair, I'd want someone to play the good one and I'd then play the trashy character that wants to top the shit out of them.

fate/au with the master/servant dial cranked all the way up. pref with two characters who want to take advantage of each other and know how to do it, but also for my current otp featuring a dumb reckless soldier-wannabe + his dumber mentor with ptsd and unfortunate empathy.

dumb court drama with any of the characters from this one manga that peaked in like 2010. except we all pretend that the character who turned out to be the main antagonist never existed. he was an inept shitty woobie with a terrible haircut and an ugly crying face. fuck that guy.

a xxxholic-type case where the characters work together to figure out what's possessing the scene and how to exorcise it.

Someone did this and past the first few memes, it didn't take off. I think part of the appeal of tfln is that it's short and sweet in engagement as well as format. You hit it for the weekend, captcha rolls in, you drop those and wait til next week. If you get any threads you really want to continue, you move them to an open post or something.

Got a new RP partner about 2 months ago. Everything was fine and dandy and we were playing a ship out, when it suddenly stopped. Now this person just abruptly talks about their bad mood or how exhausted or depressed they are all the time and they aren't tagging anything. They haven't tagged for almost a month.

Like, I get it... but I also don't know this person. I wouldn't call us "friends". We're just rping together. I've tried comforting them before but it feels weird since we're basically strangers and the person didn't seem all that receptive to it anyway (no thank-you for commiserating or comforting, no real acknowledgement of it or anything.)

My question is, is it selfish of me to want to move on? It's a pretty rare pair so I don't think I'd be able to replace them quickly. Am I just being a shitty person here? Should I be waiting it out and offering a shoulder in the meantime, even if they just ignore it? I haven't had a situation like this in several years so I don't know what the best course of action would be.

Ye. It couldn't recover from wank involving a player, winter slowdown/drops, and an unsustainable codependent relationship between the mods and remaining players that honestly was my big issue with it. Mods were waiting for players to return the game to its normal pace so that events wouldn't fizzle like the last one, players were waiting on the mods to acknowledge something more needed to be done than coasting by. Everyone got complacent.
