a lot of it depends on the rules of the game. but at least in my game, when something like that happened, I just posted to the canon update page asking if I could retcon the information in and they were aokay with it. granted, my information was more of "here is one event that happened in charles's backstory" and less "it turns out charles was EVIL ALL ALONG". something like the latter they'd probably want a canon update/an app rewrite on

unless it reveals a ridiculously important event in their past or massively contradicts how you've been playing them, shrug and incorporate the new knowledge into future play.

at least for me, I've got a state job back in my old hometown. there's people currently hiring in my sector but it's a niche sector and the pay isn't stellar so I think there'll ALWAYS be hiring in my sector. outside of my sector and more along the lines of state jobs in general, there's always a few jobs hiring but I live in a pretty solidly red and solidly poor state so there's a lot of turnover b/c of both of those factors.

This. My canon is a little similar to OP's in that updates take place roughly 2-3 times per month. While it's slice of life for the most part it does present new information about the characters which can be helpful to know if they encounter the same situations in a game/meme. For example the most recent update made reference to what the characters are doing for Valentine's Day.

I've had a lot of fun playing here so far. Everyone has been very friendly and does a good job at tagging around. It's especially fun if you're lucky enough to be online at the time the new posts go up. There's so much going on at once in those first few hours! Even if that dies down after a while, I'm going to enjoy it while I can. :)

As for favorite characters, Handsome Jack is great. I haven't gotten a chance to tag Keroro yet, but I enjoy reading his threads too.

staff changes and a change in direction bc of higher-ups in recent years iirc

one of their main translators got fired over breaking his nda in a podcast interview by talking about the wip xenoblade chronicles localization and some of the decisions being made for that, since then their translation quality took a nosedive in accuracy

fates got extra bad because the localization was handled by multiple people, at least one person on the team went overboard in toning down potentially controversial subject matter, and combined with a lack of streamlining the localization ended up inconsistent with itself a lot
