The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. tftbl was a mess and i feel like the only person who didn't like it.

I feel the same way. Fiona was a cool addition but the entire Jack focus is still mind boggling. Also, Rhack has overwhelmed most of the fandom. Where is my og Vault Hunters :(

the fact they made jack 'sympathetic' and basically erased the fact that he's a child abuser and person who commits genocide for fun irritates me. rhack is a ship i greatly dislike and tbh i found rhys and everyone else really boring. fiona isn't bad but like... it felt so lifeless compared to the other games.

but you never see any rpers or even fans from the original games so i've stopped listing it as a 'fandom' of mine.

nah, we're out there. 1 is my favorite

only problem is that imo the first two games are pretty difficult to rp from so i don't do it, and i don't know anything about the newest game(s?)/dlc so i don't bother keeping up with the fandom or tagging the newer characters

i don't think they're difficult to rp from at all personally, but yeah, there's a big lack of people who've played them compared to tales.

especially if you're playing the first set of vault hunters, or the pre-sequel cast.

bl2 sadly sits in that middle ground between them where the characters didn't get to be major NPCs in other games yet (save for zer0) but weren't in a game where the characters got a ton more dialog/development either (the presequel vault hunters).

i love tales but ia that it turned into a shitshow by the end. i think its character driven nature is what draws people in for rp.

i admittedly played tftbl first and then got into bl2 and pre-sequel, but i prefer the original games to the telltale one now. i think the telltale one just gets more buzz for being more character driven, while bl2 and pre-sequel protags are mostly silent with the exception of some reaction lines scattered in.

rhys had interesting stuff going for him, but was far less defined than fiona and that worked against the character. so much of fandom flanderizes him for rhack shipping that i don't find him enjoyable anymore. fiona and sasha were definitely the two best characters to come out of it. i assume those three, probably vaughn as well, will be npcs in bl3.

honestly i only wish the vault hunters you control in bl2 and pre-sequel got more story and engagement in the plot, aside from a couple reaction lines every so often. pre-sequel manages this better since, if you know the previous games, you already know where the main four characters windup and what kind of characters they are.
