Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Political topics are still banned. Report threads and they will be deleted.

Today is just another day, or maybe it's even your lucky day. Maybe you wake up in time to hear your favorite song on the radio. Maybe you find a five-dollar bill on the sidewalk during your morning commute. No matter what everyone you pass greets you with a smiling face. The city is at peace, but you can’t shake the feeling that something doesn't feel quite right. It's almost as though something isn’t exactly as you remember...but that's silly, isn't it? Everything else is still the same. You're surrounded by the same buildings and people you've always known. All of the comforts of home are right at your fingertips. Are you feeling all right? Maybe you should take it easy today. Rest assured, there’s really nothing to worry about at all…

Recollé is a pan-fandom mem-loss and regain game taking place in a modern setting. On an Earth similar to the one we know, characters live out their daily lives as they believe they always have. However, it soon becomes clear that this world isn't as familiar as they think it is. With an ever-changing environment and an even deeper mystery to solve, characters must work to not only regain memories of their former selves but to help decide the fate of this and many other worlds lost.

You earned yourself a debt. There are a lot of ways to do it. Maybe you played a game of chance without paying, and then lost. Maybe you watched part of a show through the curtains of the Big Top without a ticket. Or maybe you’re one of the rare few to seek out the Ringmaster by choice, to see what this strange new world has to offer. Either way, you end up with a job with which to pay the carnival back, and a contract.

For a year and a day, you’ll travel with the carnival, given work to match your skills. You’ll see the multiverse and help to bring wonder to its various inhabitants. You’ll meet new people, discover new passions, and change in ways both physical and emotional. And after that... the Ringmaster vows to return you to the precise place and moment you left. If, of course, that is what you still want.

Sounds like a good deal, right? Either way, it doesn’t really matter what you think of it at the moment. The Ringmaster has decided to give you this opportunity, and you had better make the best of it.

As you’ll soon learn, sometimes what goes on backstage is more complicated than it seems, and a carnival that can travel through worlds can also earn itself some powerful enemies.
Lost Carnival is a panfandom game centered around the activities of a mysterious carnival, capable of travelling between dimensions, and bringing a motley crew of indentured employees with it. Major themes include the mental and physical transformations that come with being exposed to the carnival’s faerie magic, as well as the dangers that come from meddling with other worlds.

The game is likely to run for a couple years, and is intended to have a flexible and free form meta plot that encourages contributions from players, and will balance carnival slice of life with more involved and dramatic plot arcs.

ELUVIO. Whatever you were doing seconds ago is gone. You're done. You're transported some place else in the blink of an eye. Around you medical equipment beeps, crew members rush to the various decompression chambers in the room. You're not alone, just one of many. Try as you might to get your questions answered, no one seems willing and can you just stand still because we need to scan your vitals. But don't worry, your questions will be answered soon enough...

Welcome to the ISC ELUVIO. Suit up, travelers. It's not going to be an easy ride.

Eluvio is a panfandom science-fiction game centered on a group of starships moving through a galaxy. The mission, as far as characters understand it, is to locate a planet suitable for colonization. There are occasionally rumors that these starships may also be fleeing something, though evidence supporting this has not yet been found. The game is primarily character-driven, with heavy emphasis on exploration, adventure, and discovery. Due to the nature of the game, there will at times be some horror and survival elements.

▷ Somewhere, somewhen, you go through a doorway. It's one of many you pass through every day, and at first you think nothing of it, but when you pass through you feel a chill, and for a split second, your vision blurs. When it clears you find yourself in an immaculately detailed, beautifully decorated mansion. Whether it's the kitchen or the drawing room, the library or a bedroom, you're given only a few moments to take in the sight of patterned walls and brocade drapes, and the strange feeling of certain alterations to your body before a voice interrupts.

"Oh, another one."

The servant, in navy and grey uniform with shiny gold buttons, ushers you down halls adorned with portraits of men and women with the same animal ears and tails, eyes and wings, that the servant has and that you yourself seem to have suddenly obtained. You're left in a plush sitting room to await an explanation, with only the servant's cheerful apology to stew on.

"We're sorry for the trouble, really. The clerk will be around to get you settled soon.

Welcome to Arden Grove."

Utopique is a panfandom roleplaying game set in the fictional town of Arden Grove, in a fantasy pseudo-Victorian magical world. Incoming characters find themselves with "kemonomimi"-style animal features and are placed into groups called "alliances" based on their feature type. From there, they'll confront events once an OOC month and have the ability to develop their town and affect the direction of the world they're in at will.

In the last few months, Utopique has been updated to include more and more ways to engage with the game and with other players. If you haven't given us a look since we opened, check out the additions! We also have metaplot coming up in February, and apps are always open! Join us for a player-focused experience based on working together with your friends in your own alliance and in others, combining different advantages to create an ideal plot and game atmosphere!

in the future, i would suggest having your premise in text rather than an image; this makes it difficult to read and doesn't work with screen readers

That's legit! We do have a plaintext version for enable me plz (which I would paste in but um. On my phone atm), and in the future we'll try and incorporate a screen-reader friendly into our shameless plugs. The current version is a stopgap measure because... well the code decided to Not Be Friendly.

Welcome to Horseshoe, a dusty little frontier town in the old west. Populated by colorful characters, crotchety mademoiselles, snake oil salesmen and gun toting outlaws, Horseshoe is a classic western come to life. Men and women dressed in period costume wander down streets named after American Presidents, a drunkard stumbles out from the saloon and his friends dunk him face first into a drinking trough, an old man rocks himself to sleep on the porch outside the hotel. Horses, tied up in a tidy row, doze and sweat in the afternoon sun--they barely flinch as a half dozen riders canter past them, heading up toward the hills.

Those hills are full of gold. Gold, and wolves, cougars and bears. Highwaymen, outlaws and opportunists are all too eager to steal away the earnings and possessions of any careless passer by. Or perhaps they're looking for new recruits. A sharpshooter might try to pick you off anyway, from an outcropping far above--it's best to watch out. Die, and you may wake up on a slab under the watchful eye of the Physician. Death isn't real, here. In fact, it's synthetic, and that's where things take on a note of the strange.

This is West World, the most ambitious and diverting theme park attraction ever made, one part of Delos' sphere of parks which includes among its most prominent and exciting destinations Medieval World, full of chivalry, swordplay and really, really tall hats, and Roman World, thriving on insobriety, debauchery, and group bathing. Populated by synthetic beings that resemble humans absolutely, West World seems to be - for the time being at least - in the beta testing stage.

Some of the synths are programmed with thrilling character flaws meant to instigate gunfights, bar fights, or wild romps in the boudoir. Others...well, for some reason others seem to be resisting their programming, memories slipping through that aren't a part of the wild west storyline they're being asked to play. Memories of other lives, memories of fighting ghosts, or punching lawyers, or leading space rebellions. Some of them have slipped their programming altogether, and only remember their sordid other-world pasts.

But that's not so surprising, is it? Machines can always go wrong, and sentient machines even more so. Is that what you are, or are you really people?

The Clock Box ➜ Reserves, Apps, and TDM open now!

[personal profile] boxlocks 2017-01-30 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Imagine a space that is both sentient and infinite, fueled only by the interactions of its inhabitants, both physical and emotional, and you have the Clock. Inspired by Doctor Who's TARDIS, Harry Potter's Room of Requirement, Arabian djinni stories, The Hitch-Hiker's Guide's Restaurant at the End of the Universe and The Redemption of Althalus' House at the End of the World, the Clock Box is a contained magical space with the ability to shift and change at will, produce items and settings from nothing, and even alter its inhabitants. Whether it's a magic space imbued with its creator's personality or an entity in its own right is unknown, but the Clock has both an immense desire to please, a scientific curiosity about the psychology of relationships, and occasionally a ridiculous sense of humor. Physically, the Clock is an infinite series of rooms and doors, from broom closets to spaces vast enough to hold an ocean, looping in on itself and shifting near-constantly, the only method of navigation being by force of will. Fortunately, as it's not malicious and enjoys interaction, it tends to bring its inhabitants together rather than stranding them alone in its endless maze of wonders.
The Clock Box is a casual panfandom game focused on character development, forming close character relationships, desires and cravings, physical intimacy, exploring the setting, and investigation and problem-solving. Characters are encouraged through use of the setting and the Clock's tendency to abuse tropes to develop close relationships with fellow inhabitants. Characters are also encouraged to explore their surroundings, create their own spaces through the forces of belief and imagination, and are given hints and clues as to the nature of the Clock and how they might come to understand it and maybe, to figure out how to go home...if they decide they want to leave.
Activity is check in only with both IC and OOC rewards for submitting activity. The game is currently small with a relatively slow but consistent pace, and is backtag friendly. Events are run monthly, optional, and range from physical or powers-based character changes to setting changes to parties. Clock Box accepts canon characters, original characters, canon AU characters, or CRAU characters (within reason). While the game is usually invite-only, we are currently offering mod invites with the submission of 10 comments from the TDM. Applications are always open.

Hey there, reserves are going to open on or a little after midnight on the 4th. I'm the only mod for Red Band and my internet isn't as reliable as I'd like currently, but it should only be a difference of a few minutes.
