I once knew a whiny bugger like this. She would post in the same memes as the rp crush while longingly waiting for them to make the first move, without realising what was turning the crush off from tagging her. Granted the crush always brought the threads she started to completion (leading her on inadvertently) so she probably didn't get it.

that seems like a stupid situation all around. if said whiny bugger still went and tagged the person instead of waiting around for tags, what's the problem? and if the person kept tagging back and never told her they didn't want to play with her, how is it anybody's fault but their own? if you're complaining about people for being unable to read your mind, the problem is you.

Minimizing OOC contact helps a lot when playing against players who have grating personalities. Or it could be a lack of options, such as when the number of people playing close friends/ship partners is limited.

I'm threading with a player of this sort and while I wouldn't be inclined to start threads with them, I'd tag them if they tagged me.

i don't get this attitude at all. if you don't enjoy threading with them, why respond at all? why not just let them know you're uninterested, or ghost on them until they get the hint?

Scientific experiments gone kinky where a person is experimented on because they have powers or to give them powers. Kinks can include bondage, toys, sensory dep, medical play, sexual torture, non-sexual torture, etc. Definitely looking to mess with darker kinks here. I'd also be interested in playing out an eventual turning of the tables if the thread goes well but that's not necessary.

I'd love it if I can get bites for either role. I have an OC male and a couple of canon females I can use for the torturer (they're all LA pbs) and a selection of canon characters from games, animanga, and LA for the subject. No prefs for medium/age/gender. PM this journal if interested!

i don't know oceanicbutterfly but the others are harmless enough. besides it's not like you're not spoiling for cr options at this point.

try to use more open-ended questions.

"what kind of shows do you like to watch?" is a good start, if they say, "idk, whatever's on," asking genre isn't a bad idea, but you could also ask what they watched recently. if you know it, ask them what they thought about it. if you don't, ask them what it's about.

don't ever ask a question that could be answered with a yes or a no. if they keep giving you idks and oks, time to bail. eventually you will run into someone who likes to talk about themselves like a normal self-involved asshole

I have Coulson (no spoilers post s4e5 pls) and Clint. Mostly looking for PSLs for Jiaying. Canonmates or cross-canon/medium. Doesn't matter.

In summary (spoilers for season 2), she's the leader of the inhumans who started a sanctuary for her kind but has harbored hatred for humanity because of horrendous torture and outright murder from HYDRA. She was never the same after her husband sewed her back together. She's essentially immortal as long as she absorbs another person's life every few decades.

Looking to explore darker themes of manipulation or betrayal after experiencing her kindness. Or even just action adventure to stop her from trying to eradicate all humankind with the inhumans loyal to her. Elements of murder, torture (on her, the other character, NPCs or otherwise) would be awesome.

Penny Dreadful is a bonkers crossover Victorian lit public domain period drama tv show. it's easily bingeable (three seasons and each season has less than thirteen episodes) and up on netflix. there's vampires, witches, werewolves, all sorts of batshit. all the characters are various shades of fucked up and also various shades of sympathetic. each season has an "Eva Green desperately wants to win an Emmy" episode where she acts her heart out and is both heartwrenching and also terrifying (sometimes they have a Billie Piper or Rory Kinnear also want to win Emmys episodes which are also very good.) Plus, Josh Hartnett's in it and he has amazing hair for the first two seasons.

try local fandom meetups, or meetups for things line NaNo or Yuletide. depending on what your fandoms are, you might be able to get a line on group activities somewhere like a comic shop or games shop. if there are conventions in your area, go to those and try to make friends with people there.

usually it's because they're incapable of taking hints, and will throw an enormous whiny tantrum and trash you to everyone they know if you tell them you're not interested.

it's a whole fucking pile of drama nobody needs, and it's a lot easier to just tag the whiny assholes back and hope they eventually get bored and wander off to hump someone else's leg incessantly.

just look around at the games on offer, find one or two that seem interesting to you and have a few OCs already on the roster, and app in. be prepared to tag out a lot your first few months, and to generally have to put in a decent amount of work to establish CR, because you won't have any name recognition to draw people in. once you get some solid CR, there will be more back and forth.
