i live in a city where this is happening and i've heard people legit say they would shoot one of those clown guys. and considering these people are creeping and grabbing little kids in some parts, i don't really blame them.

because said idiot might be up to something other than being a moron.

does anyone know how to deal with parents that like... feel the need to interview you for "big" purchases? like i've been thinking about getting a fish tank and doing some freshwater plant arrangements just as a hobby. something different i've never tried before. it seems fun! of course it will cost some money but it's not exactly going to break the bank. it's going to be all my money. i can afford it. the biggest upfront purchase is getting the tank itself. i've been browsing craigslist for some tanks.

i show some pictures of prospective tanks to my mom because i want to keep in touch with her and share with her my hobbies and interests (and let her know where i might be going in case there's some weird blowjob bartering going on and my semen-filled corpse isn't found until two days later) and suddenly she's like WELL WHAT DO YOU NEED A FISHTANK FOR? HOW ARE YOU GOING TO USE IT? WHY DO YOU WANT IT? WHAT HAPPENS IF THE FISH DIES? WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU WANT TO SELL IT? HOW ARE YOU GOING TO MOVE IT?

she did this once before when i was thinking about buying a bicycle. a bicycle.

what is going on here??? is it craigslist? is the fish? is it that fish tanks are made of glass and can be a hazard to children under the age of 30 and i never knew?

right now there are a lot of fuckheads dressing up as clowns and doing things like calling in threats to schools, hanging around people's property and trying to lure kids into the woods with candy, stuff like that...and yes as far as i know it's only happening in the states. but it started in less rural areas in the northern part of the country, and now that it's moving to the south there are a lot of people who apparently know nothing about the area expressing ~~shock~~ and ~~~horror~~~ that people are threatening to shoot the clowns. like, again, ANYONE who showed up on someone's property in a rural area and acted that way would be in danger of being shot if they didnt leave, it's just that being doing it while dressed as a clown is a hot topic right now.

Sounds to me like the parent is trying to make sure you've considered this carefully and are sure of the decision. It probably stems mostly from love and concern, but it also indicates a lack of trust in your ability to make a good decision.

just use fucking uber next time

question one: how often do you buy things on spur of the moment decisions that you wind up not using?

question two: is your mother the type to be extremely frugal?

question three: do you have frank discussions with your mother about your things being yours and you don't need a parental accountant?

She doesn't tend to add to plots but she's fine until Sinjir is involved. Her OoC thirst for the ship is really obvious and off-putting. As an outsider to the cast judging by the tone of the cast's plotting plurks alone, it looks like she's blowing everyone's reactions out of proportion to Luke just so it doesn't look so bad that she still wants to ride that dick hard. People in the cast being uncomfortable wouldn't be a surprise, because her OoC want for ships has Luke currently fucking/dating the character that killed Han, and now she looks like she's trying to drive him into the arms of a character that just publically tortured another castmate.

i'm guilty of this...in my case it's partially the busy-ness and partly the need to canon review, which is hampered by the busy-ness. BUT i have been known to pick up PSLs years after the fact, so as long as you're still interested there's still a chance! good luck, anon, i hope they come back to you.

That's not clear from the comment and if OP lives with their parents, that does make this a different situation.

my mom would do this back when i was still living with her, as an adult. presumably because i was living there rent-free to save up to get my own place and she wanted to help keep me on track in that area. but honestly even now if i'm thinking about something big and mention it to her she tends to ask those kinds of questions, not in an intense interviewing way but in a devil's advocate kind of way. so i would guess that maybe your mom has your best interests in mind? either way if it really bothers you i would just stop mentioning things like that to her.
