Amenadiel's done some nasty shit, but God's not exactly coming off as the best person ever in this show, imo.

yes and no? we haven't seen or heard from god in the show, so all we have to go on is our own disbelief and the narrative of a jilted son and wife. he could be a giant dick, or he could be trying to teach lucifer to grow. until we ever get an actual glimpse of or discussion with god in the show, we can't tell, and i'm a huge luci-fan and pet his poor broken heart every day.

Yes, a jilted son and wife. Sure, we don't know what, exactly, they did to end up in Hell, but forcing his son to guard his own mother in that place is definitely screwed up, no matter how you look at it.

enh, i'm an atheist, so i come at it from a non-religious standpoint and going by show canon. with spn chuck and the lack of actual god narrative, it's really one-sided. there was the mention of plagues/floods from mom, so he could have put her in there to keep humanity safe. lucifer going down really depends on if they did the comic route or not, since the show is so loosely based on it. either way, i've always loved how lucifer acts like a spoiled trust-fund kid whose daddy isn't paying enough attention to him.

/bursts into the church "HELLO DADDY!" that was just like a spoiled trust-fund kid entering dad's office and poking around all his stuff. it's an interesting dynamic and with more angels cropping up in this season (at least Uriel), i'm interested in how that plays out. it's starting to look more and more like god's having an actual hand in things, so i'm curious where it'll go.

I'm non-Christian, myself, and just talking about the show, tbh. Now that we know more about the mother (if not much), it may be more understandable, but there's still the whole "Lucifer guarding her" mess, which obviously had him feeling some kind of way.

I want to see Michael and especially Duma pop up, myself. And I know they're really not following the comic, but I'd at least like to see Perdissa.

because it's the only canon with a biblical cast that's had a viewpoint from god. so i've seen a lot of people using chuck's personality/excuses as to why lucifer's 'god' is doing what he does.

oh my god they're different series. they are not set in the same fucking universe. what is true of one is not true of the other.

considering they're going for a whole season rather than a half? my guess would be that she'll pull something major around halfway through the season, maybe just before the typical break that happens at the end of the year for the sake of suspense.

13 is a full season for them. it's not half a season. they'd like to try for more, but it depends on scheduling and if the network goes along with a longer season. and from what i heard, they were pushing for 18 eps. that's like saying other shows with 6 or 10 eps aren't 'full seasons'. they're just not 23 ep series, like some. more shows seem to be going with shorter seasons lately.

i didn't mean the episode count. i meant the typical sept/oct - apr/may television season that many shows conform to. they're airing for a whole general television season rather than a half.

I'm so looking forward to this fight between Lucifer and Uriel. I love watching Lucifer fight in general, but the playfulness he has with people is going to be gone when it's against Uriel, and I'm so on board for that.
