rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

have you looked at mask or menace? there are a lot of ships in this game, both cross-canon and between castmates that isn't canon. some of the ships are pretty strange and ooc, but weirdly there isn't wank about any of it. i'm not saying that as a gripe, just as a fact that shipping is a thing and no one seems to care about who's shipping with who. the cr meme even has a spot for if you're looking to ship.

yep! it's hard to find rp partners who match up with you in time, writing style, and characters. i have 4-5 PSLs i can boomerang going at one time after dozens of hit-or-miss "kinks you want to play" starters, atp/enable me memes, and bakerstreet chance meetings, but these PSLs all have hundreds of comments each and i've started new threads with this people because we click.

I also grew up in a rural area and I can confirm this is true. People have definitely been shot around here trespassing on other people's land, and my own father ran out of the house once or twice with a shotgun to tell someone who was hanging around to get out (it was usually just a drunk teenager or a hunter who was where they weren't supposed to be, but when you live a 30 minute drive from the nearest police station you have to be careful). So of course creepy clowns that are lurking in the woods are going to have guns pointed at them.

all my RL friends are fandom nerds who also write fic and do embarrassing things so if they came looking, whatever. they know I RP and they don't care. I know they write shitty self-insert Mary Sue fanfic and I don't care.

I mean shit, if they actually found my journals and stumbled on my smut threads, I expect the reaction would be to tell me whether or not it was hot. I'd take it as a compliment.

i haven't really experienced much nastiness myself, but my suggestion to use the site was just for the list of guilds, not really for the full website.

I feel you. DWRP sets the bar for activity for the slowest/flakiest players possible, which is nice and all but it's always gets awkward when you realize you're getting a lot more from the person who actually seems willing to play with you.

Just keep having fun with whatever's present for you. If rp partner A gets jealous, then maybe she'll actually finish a thread for once.

I used to be super stringent about doing tags in order, but loosened up a couple of months ago and started bumping threads I'm excited about up the queue. I find I get back to the majority of my threads at the same rate or more quickly than when I was being rigorously fair, even alongside the threads I do first.

It just comes down to good motivation. You get momentum going with the threads you're stoked on, and it carries forth to the ones you're more neutral about.

Why? Because mostly people on the internet just like to bitch, so if you adjusted your writing to fit one group of people, another group would say that your writing is shit. Your writing will always be shit to someone. It will also be good to someone, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If you get crit, accept it, make some adjustments to your writing if the crit makes sense, and move on. If you don't get crit, ignore the fuckers whining on anoncomms. Unless your writing is so bad you've descended to Selwyn levels, such BS wanking will go away as fast as a fart in a wind tunnel. It's just not worth it to worry about it.

I had this exact same problem. Love her to pieces OOC, but a ship isn't much fun if it's all handwaved. She finally idled out, and now my character's got chemistry with a new ship, and it's great. You can always suggest that you move the slow ship to a musebox/PSL if the player still wants to have fun with it, but in a game, go for the one that's actually going to get some traction.

she's from a fairly new canon so i'm waiting for more info to come out about her (and her canon) before i start doing anything seriously with her. might pop into the occasional meme for fun though.
